Network Engineering is seeking a Technical Infrastructure Program Manager (TIPM) to help us continue to build the largest network in the world. This role offers endless opportunities to work on latest technologies and solve complex technical challenges on the forefront of Global Cloud Computing.
As a TIPM, you will lead complex, multi-disciplinary networking projects with the opportunity to shape, define & deliver new methods of delivering technology solutions at scale. You will be responsible for end to end delivery of network infrastructure changes and upgrades across Amazon Data Centers. You will manage our cross-functional projects, working with all organizational levels and groups including network operations, network engineering, infrastructure engineering & internal project management teams, as well as external vendors.
You must have excellent Program Management skills, the ability to identify and mitigate risks, and remove blockers whilst applying critical thinking to develop paths to success. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential as you will be responsible to communicating with a variety of teams and partners as well as senior leadership. You must have a proven track record of successful project management & show the ability to deliver effectively with compressed timelines while dealing with ambiguity. You must possess a working knowledge of networking and data center technologies.
Key job responsibilities
• Program manager, monitor the network infrastructure builds health, customer demand, anticipate risks, resolve issues and initiate corrective action as appropriate.
• Work with stakeholders (networking engineers/tech program managers/senior management) to define requirements and processes.
• Manage the dependencies and the interfaces between projects and negotiate the trade-offs as needed.
• You actively participate in the hiring process as well as mentor others - improving their skills and ability to get things done.Manage multiple competing cross-organizational projects/programs simultaneously
• Interact with engineers, technicians, project managers and senior management on a daily basis
• Analyze, interpret and visualize data, with Redshift, Oracle, Tableau, QuickSight, Redshift, and other BI management and visualization tools.
• Create predictable process paths and Drive automation initiatives, and drive simplification efforts in engineering and project/program management and architectures to unblock innovation
A day in the life
Meeting with project teams to ensure progress and delivery timelines meet or exceed the need-by-date. Planning future projects, coordinating design and requirements discussions and driving commitment from stakeholder teams to ensure project are started and finish on time. Reviewing processes and mechanisms for improvement opportunities and driving improvement initiatives at the team and org level.
About the team
We are the center of excellence for end-to-end management of networking programs to support AWS New Regions, New AZ's, and LZ's builds. We plan and manage all networking deliverables throughout the project lifecycle including design, scope definition, procurement, scheduling, monitoring and ensuring the execution of work, tracking and reporting project status, risks, issues and change requests. We collaborate with our customers and partners to create and improve repeatable processes to continually reduce cycle-time and cost, and improve quality standards.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 3+ years of technical infrastructure management experience
- Knowledge of best practices and emerging technologies, related to infrastructure (i.e. network, data center, hardware, software)
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering or related fields
- Experience leading the design, automation, deployment, and support of large-scale infrastructure
- 5+ years of data center engineering or operations experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent certification
- Experience managing multiple projects and priorities across teams in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Experience with AWS, networks and operating systems
- Experience in managing multiple, competing priorities simultaneously
- Experience in hands-on work managing complex technology projects

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
