Job Summary

The SPG Mayan Automation - Engineering Manager leads Mayan-based automation initiatives supporting tool installation and the warranty phase, working in close partnership with SPG BU Intelligence, Engineering, Quality, and Field organizations. This role combines deep technical leadership with disciplined program execution to improve installation consistency, reduce warranty exposure, and drive scalable automation across factory and field operations.

Key Responsibilities

Mayan Automation - Install & Warranty

  • Lead and develop a team of engineers responsible for Mayan automation programs across SPG BUs, ensuring alignment with business priorities and install/warranty objectives.
  • Own end-to-end execution of Mayan automation for installation and warranty programs, from problem identification through deployment and benefits realization.
  • Partner with BU Intelligence and Install/Warranty stakeholders to identify install pain points, warranty drivers, repeat nonconformances, and costreduction opportunities.
  • Oversee development and continuous improvement of test plans, Mayan scripts, diagnostics, and troubleshooting workflows to improve system reliability and reduce field labor.
  • Drive test automation, modularization, and standardization of testing, execution, and reporting.
  • Support and scale SmartStart automation initiatives to improve install consistency, quality, and cycle time.
  • Track savings, benefits realization, and continuous improvement metrics.

Technical Leadership & Program Management

  • Develop and manage endtoend program plans, including scope, schedule, risks, dependencies, and deliverables.
  • Communicate program status, risks, and mitigation plans clearly to crossfunctional stakeholders and leadership.
  • Define, track, and report KPIs such as install efficiency, defect escapes, repeat issues, and warranty cost trends.

Installation Readiness & Field Collaboration

  • Provide installation readiness support and lead program adoption and usage tracking across factory and field teams.
  • Enable field success through training materials, documentation, and structured knowledge transfer.
  • Participate in customersite engagements as needed to assess install risks and customerspecific requirements.

Required Technical Skills

  • Strong understanding of semiconductor capital equipment systems (mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, vacuum, and process subsystems).
  • Demonstrated passion for test automation and efficiency improvement.
  • Experience with system installation, testing, diagnostics, and troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing and operational systems such as SAP, iOMS, Smart Factory, Mayan, or equivalent platforms.
  • Strong analytical and datadriven decisionmaking skills.

The salary offered to a selected candidate will be based on multiple factors including location, hire grade, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and with consideration of internal equity of our current team members. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation such as participation in a bonus and a stock award program, as applicable.

For all sales roles, the posted salary range is the Target Total Cash (TTC) range for the role, which is the sum of base salary and target bonus amount at 100% goal achievement.
