Senior Project Manager

This role is accountable for understanding the scope, timing, and assumptions for contracted engagements; work with Technical Delivery Leads to plan, organize, and forecast work on contracted engagements; report upon status - project and financial on a regular cadence; facilitate project communications internally and with externally (i.e., lightweight account management) in order to deliver contracted work; and otherwise keep project teams on-track / on-schedule, on-budget, and in line with mutually agreed upon expectations between clients and XeoMatrix.

Responsibilities:

  • Effectively plan, resource, execute, and otherwise manage BI and data services-related projects / programs.
  • Leverage project management methodologies to ensure repeatable success.
  • Partner with Technical Delivery Leads to employ development methodologies to ensure high-quality, complete work.


  • Liaise with Technical Delivery Leads to comprehensively plan projects by:
  • Defining scope (based upon requirements and deliverables).
  • Developing comprehensive work-based plans to deliver upon defined scope.
  • Creating work-based schedules or timelines.
  • Mapping out resource requirements.


  • Inform resource planning and forecasting and overall capacity planning for the company by aggregating staffing requirements across all active and future engagements.


  • Actively manage against project plans (schedules / timelines) and defined budgets.


  • Monitor and report upon project progress and budget usage.
  • Actively manage project-related issues.
  • Identify and mitigate project risks – planning for contingencies, where appropriate.


  • Perform client management responsibilities that may include but may not necessarily be limited to:
  • Setting and managing client expectations (in coordination with Technical Delivery Leads) as part of day-to-day project-specific communications – which includes facilitating regular progress / status meetings, internal stand-ups, etc.
  • Supporting initial requirements gathering process (to inform scope definition and work-planning).
  • Ensuring comprehensive project briefings for assigned teams and project kickoff meetings with clients
  • Partnering with Technical Delivery Leads to define and enforce mutually agreed upon deadlines internally and externally.
  • Informing the creation of commercially appropriate contracts (SOWs, Change Orders) reflecting proper descriptions re: Services, Deliverables, Timing, Assumptions.


  • Adopt, enforce, and otherwise contribute to overall improvement and quality of XeoMatrix's processes.

Experience:

  • 6+ years of project management experience within a professional services consulting firm focused on data engineering and data analytics.
  • Track record of effectively managing through to completion or otherwise delivering BI or data services-related projects (or programs) on schedule, on budget, and in accordance with Client or customer expectations.
  • Track record of managing the end-to-end process for all facets of the SLDC inclusive of initial requirements gathering and clarification; development lifecycle; and post-launch support models.
  • Track record of managing multi-project programs for a single client and/or portfolios comprised of projects for multiple Clients in parallel.
  • Experience with AI, data transformation, BI migration, or data warehouse modernization is required.
  • Experience with Tableau and Salesforce is preferred.
