Job description

Job Title: Program Manager – Technical / Data & Systems Migration
Location: McLean, VA (On-site)
Employment Type: Contract (W2 through ZipStaff — No C2C or 1099)

About the Opportunity:
ZipStaff is seeking an experienced Program Manager to lead technology and data-migration programs at a major financial services organization in the housing-finance / capital-markets space.
This is a 50/50 generalist and technical program role. About half the work is stakeholder management, executive reporting, and risk — the other half is data and system migrations, including cloud-bound technology moves. Pure PMO coordinators and non-technical program managers will not be a fit.

What You’ll Do:
  • Coordinate and manage multiple programs / projects through milestones and delivery.
  • Split time across generalist program management and technical / migration work.
  • Support data and system migrations, including technology moves toward the cloud.
  • Identify, report, and mitigate risks with solution-oriented follow-through.
  • Liaise with business and technical stakeholders — requirements, expectations, and progress.
  • Prepare clear management reports and executive presentations.
  • Analyze, interpret, and visualize data to support capital-markets business decisions.
  • Recommend data-driven process improvements.
  • Keep requirements, changes, and outcomes documented.
  • Work in Jira (or similar) and stay current on capital-markets operations, products, and data flows.

Required Qualifications:
  • 7+ years of IT / technology program management experience.
  • Demonstrated 50/50 mix of generalist PM skills and technical program management.
  • Hands-on experience with data and/or system migrations (cloud migration experience preferred).
  • Strong stakeholder management and executive-level communication.
  • Proven risk identification, reporting, and mitigation.
  • Working knowledge of Jira or similar PM tools.
  • Financial-services background.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Economics, Data Science, or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to work on-site in McLean, VA.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Capital markets, credit risk, trade lifecycle, settlements, market data, or financial-instruments experience.
  • Tableau, Power BI, or similar visualization tools.
  • Agile, PMP, or other project/program certification.
  • Experience presenting to senior leadership in a regulated financial environment.

About ZipStaff
ZipStaff partners with leading organizations to connect skilled technology professionals with high-impact contract opportunities. We focus on quality matches and long-term success.
To apply, please submit your resume highlighting program management of data/system migrations, executive stakeholder communication, and financial-services delivery.
