Engineering Manager - Technical Coolant Systems

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

Role:

We are seeking an Engineering Manager to lead our TCS (Technical Coolant Systems) team. This team is accountable for end-to-end mechanical design and engineering execution of facility / data hall side liquid cooling infrastructure packages, including headers, spools, valve trains, filtration, buffer/expansion, drip trays, sensor systems, leak detection integration, and install readiness, serving hyperscale data centers and high-performance computing systems.

The successful candidate will oversee technical design ownership across awarded TCS programs, drive design maturity through reviews and sign-off, ensure required documentation is created, released, and complete, and coordinate external engineering support when specialized skills or tools are needed. They will create and optimize engineering processes, foster cross-functional collaboration, and drive both innovation and execution excellence while ensuring adherence to project timelines.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the mechanical design and engineering execution of Technical Coolant System infrastructure packages, ensuring designs meet product development processes and project schedules.
  • Lead and develop the TCS engineering organization including Technical Leads, Mechanical Engineers, Designers, BIM resources, and external engineering partners.
  • Provide technical guidance to the team in performing thermal analysis, heat transfer simulations, stress analysis, root cause investigations, and materials selection for liquid-cooled solutions.
  • Lead design reviews and sign-off, driving design maturity and ensuring engineering documentation is created, released, and complete across awarded TCS programs.
  • Manage the team's workload, prioritize tasks, and delegate effectively, while also focusing on building the team's technical knowledge, supporting career growth, and managing performance.
  • Develop, refine, and implement engineering processes to improve efficiency, quality, and reliability.
  • Coach, train, and guide team members to strengthen technical expertise, support career growth, and build future leaders within the organization.
  • Drive a culture of technical excellence, innovation, autonomy, and accountability.
  • Create and manage plans for department budgets, the growth of the team, and project execution roadmaps.
  • Work closely with business development, professional services, manufacturing, supply chain, quality, and program management teams to ensure seamless integration of designs.
  • Collaborate and build strong working relationships with key industry partners and critical component vendors to promote a culture of continuous improvement and the adoption of best-in-class technology.
  • Participate in internal company-wide efforts with other departments focused on continuous improvement, process development, and the adoption of advanced technology.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar Engineering disciplines.
  • Minimum of +10 years of relevant experience in related/adjacent industries.
  • Demonstratable experience in TCS architecture, hydronic piping systems, valve trains, filtration, expansion systems, leak detection integration, BIM coordination, and installation-ready design packages.
  • Direct experience with designing and performing stress analysis of mechanical structures, mounts, and piping assemblies.
  • Experience delivering large-scale infrastructure, industrial process systems, HVAC hydronic systems, district energy systems, or liquid cooling systems

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A Master's degree in the relevant thermal or fluid dynamics field.
  • Experience with deployment, installation & commissioning of facility piping systems.
  • Possess P.Eng designation and in good order.
