Job description

Recognized as the No. 1 site trusted by real estate professionals, Realtor.com® has been at the forefront of online real estate for over 25 years, connecting buyers, sellers, and renters with trusted insights and expert guidance to find their perfect home. Through its robust suite of tools, Realtor.com® not only makes a significant impact on the real estate industry at large, but for consumers, navigating the biggest purchase they will make in their life, by providing a user experience that is easy to use, easy to understand, and most of all, easy to make decisions.
Join us on our mission to empower more people to find their way home by breaking barriers to entry, making the right connections, and building confidence through expert guidance.
We are looking for a Staff Technical Program Manager to partner with Product, Engineering, and senior leadership on complex, high-impact initiatives across our marketplace organization.
This role supports products and systems that power lead generation, partner experiences, and revenue operations. Depending on business need, the role may support one of two adjacent areas:
  • Lead Services: consumer marketplace and lead products that connect people searching for a home with real estate professionals.
  • Enterprise Systems: billing, sales tooling, and commercial systems that support our business and revenue operations.

This is a high-trust, high-ambiguity individual contributor role. You will create structure where it does not exist, improve how teams execute, and help leaders make informed decisions across multiple programs and workstreams.
What you'll do
  • Drive portfolio health and predictable delivery across complex, cross-functional programs.
  • Create clear visibility into progress, risks, dependencies, decisions, tradeoffs, and required actions.
  • Establish operating rhythms, dashboards, review cadences, and other mechanisms that improve execution across teams.
  • Strengthen SDLC discipline, including intake, prioritization, sequencing, planning, Definition of Ready, Definition of Done, release readiness, and operational handoffs.
  • Coordinate work across Engineering, Product, Design, Data, Operations, and business stakeholders.
  • Translate technical complexity into clear business context for directors, senior directors, executives, and cross-functional partners.
  • Engage engineering teams credibly on systems, architecture, integrations, dependencies, technical tradeoffs, and delivery risk.
  • Surface issues early, drive resolution, and create clear escalation paths when decisions or resources are needed.
  • Partner with product and engineering leaders to connect execution plans to customer, marketplace, and business outcomes.
  • Help teams improve planning, communication, accountability, and delivery predictability without adding unnecessary bureaucracy.
  • Contribute to AI-forward ways of working, including AI-enabled workflows, automation, and decision support where they create meaningful value.

What you'll bring
  • 8+ years of experience in technical program management, engineering program management, delivery leadership, or a related field; 10+ years is preferred.
  • Demonstrated Staff-level impact across multiple teams, programs, or organizations.
  • Experience creating operating mechanisms, driving portfolio-level visibility, and influencing director- and vice president-level stakeholders.
  • Strong technical fluency across software development lifecycles, systems, services, APIs, data flows, integrations, dependencies, and technical tradeoffs.
  • Experience improving execution discipline across teams through better governance, intake, prioritization, planning, risk management, or release practices.
  • Experience working in product-focused software environments, customer-facing platforms, SaaS, consumer technology, marketplaces, or complex software organizations.
  • Strong executive communication and the ability to tailor messages for engineering, product, business, and leadership audiences.
  • Comfort operating with significant autonomy in ambiguous environments and bringing order to complex, shifting priorities.
  • A track record of influencing outcomes without direct authority.
  • Genuine interest in an individual contributor Staff TPM role. This is not a people-management position.

Preferred experience
  • Marketplace, ecommerce, consumer technology, or customer-platform experience.
  • Programs involving high-volume matching or routing, lead delivery, transaction or billing systems, partner integrations, or real-time data pipelines.
  • Experience with AI-enabled products, automation, machine learning workflows, or responsible AI adoption.
  • Experience establishing Definition of Ready/Done practices, release governance, operational readiness, or cross-team delivery standards.
  • Experience supporting cloud-native products and modern software engineering organizations.

What success looks like
In this role, you will help leadership understand what is on track, what is slipping, where risk is accumulating, and what decisions are needed. You will make complex programs easier to execute by creating shared context, clear ownership, strong operating rhythms, and reliable follow-through.
The strongest Staff TPMs in this role are technical enough to engage engineering deeply, business-aware enough to frame tradeoffs clearly, and influential enough to improve how multiple teams work together.
