Summary:

In this role, you will lead large, complex technical programs spanning multiple teams, systems, and business areas. You will serve as a primary program partner to senior product and engineering leaders, shaping delivery strategy, governance, client alignment, organizational readiness, and execution across highly interdependent initiatives. You will connect technical execution to business outcomes, proactively manage risk and change, and strengthen technical program management practices across the organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead program strategy, integrated planning, and execution for large initiatives with multiple technical workstreams, significant dependencies, or material business impact.
  • Translate strategic objectives and technical roadmaps into cohesive delivery approaches with defined outcomes, milestones, sequencing, capacity assumptions, dependencies, and decision points.
  • Design governance and operating models that enable timely decisions, clear accountability, and appropriate executive visibility.
  • Manage the full program lifecycle, including discovery, planning, implementation, release, migration, adoption, stabilization, and outcome review.
  • Assess program health using delivery metrics, operational signals, and qualitative insights, and intervene early to address risks, dependencies, and barriers.
  • Align product, engineering, architecture, data, security, infrastructure, operations, and business leaders around shared outcomes and realistic commitments.
  • Facilitate complex tradeoffs involving scope, sequencing, technical debt, risk, resources, quality, and time to value while maintaining productive client and cross-functional relationships.
  • Anticipate systemic risks and cross-program dependencies, develop mitigation and contingency plans, and assess organizational readiness, process impacts, communication, training, support, and adoption needs.
  • Develop executive-ready communications that connect technical execution to business value, risk, strategic priorities, and key decisions.
  • Mentor junior staff, review program artifacts, lead retrospectives, and strengthen technical program management practices through reusable frameworks, standards, and coaching.

Qualifications:

  • Relevant degree preferred.
  • 5 or more years of relevant experience required.
  • Experience in technical program management, software delivery, enterprise technology, engineering operations, data and analytics, or complex transformation programs.
  • Demonstrated success leading complex, cross-functional technical programs involving multiple teams and senior leaders.
  • Strong technical fluency in one or more areas such as software platforms, cloud, data, AI/ML, integrations, cybersecurity, infrastructure, or enterprise applications.
  • Experience in healthcare, healthcare technology, healthcare data, another regulated industry, or a technology organization highly preferred.
  • Advanced client management, executive communication, facilitation, and conflict navigation skills.
  • Strong systems thinking, adaptability, and ability to navigate ambiguity and changing priorities.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence without formal authority and guide complex decisions across technical and business teams.

Estimated Hiring Range:

At Vizient, we consider skills, experience, and organizational needs in our compensation approach. Geographic factors may adjust the range estimate and hires typically fall below the top range. Compensation decisions are tailored to individual circumstances. The current salary range for this role is $102,400.00 to $179,000.00.
