Overview

Lewis Energy Group likes to control its own destiny, and we want you to be a part of it. We are a unique and hands-on organization that believes engineering excellence can only begin with a solid foundation in the field.  Our field-focused internship program is the starting point for a technical career at Lewis Energy and provides interns with real work experience applicable to their future in the upstream energy space. Throughout the ten-week internship program, students will work alongside Lewis Energy team members in ongoing operations and experience working with the best team in South Texas.  Our program includes opportunities to learn about our uniquely entrepreneurial approach to South Texas natural gas development, opportunities to attend field trips conducted by our technical professionals, and work on projects that will impact our current and future operations. 

A strong candidate for this position will have:

  • An enthusiastic approach to learning
  • Petroleum Engineering educational background or work experience
  • A strong background in interpersonal, technical, and computer skills

  • The Intern will perform project related work in their field and will be required to provide a summary of their work at the conclusion of their internship.
  • The intern will operate under the supervision and mentoring of an industry professional.
  • The intern will have an opportunity to connect with personnel across the company and provide real solutions to situations involved.
Qualifications

Qualifications

Basic:

  • Pursuing a BS (or higher) degree in engineering from an accredited institution.
  • Must have completed sophomore year status and in good academic standing.
  • Candidates must be authorized to work in the US on a full-time indefinite basis without the need for employment visa sponsorship now or in the future.
  • Must have a valid driver's license

Other:

  • Demonstrate good communication and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrate computer skills.
