Title: Security Program Manager
Location: Houston, TX
Duration: 6+ month contract

Overview
We are seeking an experienced IT Security Program Manager to lead a portfolio of cybersecurity initiatives focused on transitioning traditional cyber operations into an AI-enabled Cyber Ops model. This role will oversee multiple concurrent projects, coordinate with internal stakeholders, and partner closely with an external advisory firm to drive execution and measurable outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage a cybersecurity program consisting of 3 strategic security projects aligned to AI-driven cyber operations
  • Serve as the central point of coordination across security, infrastructure, data, and application teams
  • Partner with external advisors to translate strategy into executable plans and ensure alignment with best practices
  • Define program roadmap, milestones, dependencies, and deliverables across all projects
  • Drive program governance including status reporting, risk management, issue resolution, and executive communication
  • Ensure integration of AI/automation capabilities into cyber operations processes (e.g., detection, response, threat analysis)
  • Manage vendor engagement, ensuring accountability, deliverable quality, and alignment to internal objectives
  • Track KPIs and success metrics tied to operational efficiency, threat response time, and automation outcomes
  • Facilitate cross-functional workshops and decision-making sessions to accelerate delivery

Required Experience
  • 8-12+ years of experience in IT program/project management with a focus on cybersecurity initiatives
  • Proven experience managing multi-project programs with executive visibility
  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity operations (SOC, threat detection/response, SIEM, incident management)
  • Experience working with consulting/advisory partners
  • Familiarity with AI/ML use cases in cybersecurity (e.g., automation, anomaly detection, predictive threat modeling)
  • Experience with enterprise program governance frameworks and delivery methodologies (Agile, hybrid, or waterfall)
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills across technical and executive audiences

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience leading cybersecurity transformation or modernization programs
  • Exposure to AI-enabled security tools (e.g., SOAR, AI-driven SIEM, threat intelligence platforms)
