Job description

Position Summary

The Technical Service Manager (TSM) will develop and maintain relationships with potential and existing clients within the technical and manufacturing fields. Identify opportunities to mentor existing workforce while developing and implementing strategies for growth and best business practices within assigned location and/or department. Position is also responsible for completing technical jobs and duties as business needs dictate.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day operations, including project execution, field activities, resource coordination, and resolution of customer and operational issues.
  • Participate in hiring efforts and mentor, coach, motivate, and develop team members through performance reviews and ongoing feedback.
  • Schedule and coordinate field personnel and resources for local and large-scale projects.
  • Provide technical guidance, review quotes, perform site walks as needed, and ensure quality of field work and reports.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, vendors, and internal teams while delivering excellent customer service.
  • Monitor project performance to meet profitability and operational goals.
  • Partner with leadership to improve processes and support business initiatives.
  • Prepare reports and communicate project status as needed.
  • Support a safe, productive work environment and follow company policies.
  • Maintain flexibility to support customer and business needs, including occasional after-hours or weekend work.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Experience & Qualifications

  • Associate degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical testing, commissioning, or a related industry.
  • Hands-on experience testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and maintaining high-voltage substation equipment (69kV–345kV), including protective relays, breakers, transformers, and control systems.
  • Strong knowledge of utility, industrial, commercial, or renewable energy environments.
  • Proven leadership, mentoring, and team management experience.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Customer-focused with strong relationship-building skills.
  • Commitment to safe work practices.
  • Willingness to travel and work flexible hours as needed.
  • Valid driver's license.

Additional Information

Travel: Up to 100% travel

Type:  Full-time

Location: Omaha, NE

Compensation: $65.00-$75.00 an hour plus eligible for overtime. 

Relocation: Available for highly qualified candidates. 

Benefits: Full benefits including medical, dental, vision, company paid life insurance, anniversary gifts, matching 401k, and paid time off. 

Physical Demands: Office Duties; Lifting a maximum of 50lbs on a daily, crawling, climbing, standing for long periods of time and working in non-ideal conditions.
