METTLER TOLEDO RECLAIM is a rapid response third-party product inspection company that specializes in creating customized inspection solutions for customers with inventories suspected of containing foreign materials and product defects. Our industry-leading X-ray detection technology, combined with proven data capture/reporting, and immediate response practices, allows us to supply quality inspection services to our customer base across North America. Regionally rapid deployment of mobile inspection equipment with highly trained and qualified personnel to customer sites for inspection applications allows our customers to reduce costs of reinspection and maintain control within their internal food safety program.
The Account and Business Development Manager is responsible for driving revenue growth, customer retention, and strategic account development for the X-ray Reclaim business throughout an assigned territory or customer portfolio. Serving as the primary commercial representative for X-ray Reclaim services, the Account and Business Development Manager develops relationships with food safety, quality assurance, operations, procurement, and executive leadership teams to position X-ray Reclaim as the preferred partner for foreign material incident response, inventory recovery, and re-inspection services.
The Account and Business Development Manager proactively identifies opportunities to support customers before, during, and after foreign material incidents by educating stakeholders on X-ray Reclaim capabilities, inspection technologies, response protocols, and risk mitigation strategies. This role is responsible for generating new business opportunities, expanding existing customer relationships, managing key accounts, supporting emergency response efforts, and ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction throughout the customer lifecycle.
Working closely with Operations, Inspection Officers, Applications, Marketing, and Leadership teams, the Account and Business Development Manager develops and executes territory growth plans, manages sales pipelines, coordinates customer presentations and facility visits, and supports customers through the quotation, project execution, and follow-up process. The role requires strong business development skills, technical aptitude, consultative selling abilities, and a customer-focused approach to helping food processors minimize product loss, reduce business interruption, and safely return compliant product to Job Description the supply chain.
The Account and Business Development Manager plays a critical role in expanding market awareness, developing strategic partnerships, and driving the continued growth of the X-ray. Reclaim business across North America. What you will do
  • Develop and execute territory and account growth plans to achieve revenue, profitability, and customer acquisition objectives.
  • Build and maintain relationships with food safety, quality assurance, operations, procurement, supply chain, and executive leadership personnel within customer organizations.
  • Identify, qualify, and develop new business opportunities for X-ray Reclaim mobile and in-house re-inspection services.
  • Manage a portfolio of strategic customer accounts while expanding service utilization across additional facilities and business units.
  • Conduct customer presentations, facility visits, service reviews, and capability demonstrations to promote X-ray Reclaim services and technologies.
  • Respond to foreign material incidents and customer inquiries by coordinating internal resources and supporting the development of timely service proposals.
  • Presents quotations, service agreements, value propositions, and commercial proposals to customers.
  • Maintain an active sales pipeline and accurately manage opportunities, forecasts, customer activity, and account information within CRM systems.
  • Collaborate with Applications, Operations, Inspection Officers, and Leadership teams to ensure customer requirements are understood and effectively communicated.
  • Support customers throughout the sales and project lifecycle, including project planning, execution updates, post-project reviews, and follow-up activities.
  • Develop a strong understanding of customer operations, foreign material risks, quality systems, and business objectives to identify opportunities for service expansion.
  • Monitor market trends, competitive activity, industry developments, and customer needs to support strategic business planning.
  • Participate in trade shows, conferences, industry associations, webinars, and networking events to generate awareness and business opportunities.
  • Conduct regular business reviews with key accounts to strengthen relationships and identify additional opportunities for support.
  • Support customer retention initiatives through proactive communication, issue resolution, and ongoing account management.
  • Coordinate with Marketing to support lead generation campaigns, customer communications, and promotional activities.
  • Maintain a high level of knowledge regarding X-ray Reclaim services, inspection technologies, foreign material risk mitigation strategies, and industry best practices.
  • Prepare and submit accurate sales forecasts, activity reports, account plans, and management updates.
  • Ensure all customer interactions are conducted professionally and in accordance with company policies, procedures, and ethical business practices.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.

  • Regular on-site visits to manufacturing plants, warehouses, distribution centers, and company locations
  • Focus on relationship building, presentations, project support, and identifying growth opportunities
  • Self-directed role requiring strong time management, organization, and communication skills
  • Work split: ~50% remote/admin, 40% customer-facing sales/business development, 10% field/travel support
  • Requires independent work while collaborating with cross-functional teams across North America
  • Travel is essential for customer engagement, business growth, and industry involvement
  • Activities include customer visits, presentations, business reviews, trade shows, conferences, and strategic meetings
  • Travel scope includes regional, national, and occasional international (Canada & U.S.), with overnight stays
  • Must have valid driver's license, clean driving record, ability to rent vehicles and travel by air, and a valid passport
  • Travel expected to be approximately 15%-25% depending on territory and business needs
