Description

Applied Research Solutions is looking for a Senior Configuration Data Manager to support the Training PEO Support Directorate at WPAFB, AFB in the T-7 Advanced Pilot Training program. The Senior Configuration Data Manager will provide assistance in the application of configuration management principles to ensure consistent product performance, functionality, and physical attributes throughout its life cycle. This role is integral to ensuring products meet their requirements, design specifications, and operational needs. The candidate will assist in all stages of configuration and data management, including change management, data maintenance, audit support, and compliance with Contract Data Requirement List (CDRL) obligations. This position will play a critical role in the development and execution of audits and management processes, participating in government review and resolution of configuration management issues.

Responsibilities include:

  • Assist in establishing and maintaining consistency of a product's performance, functional, and physical attributes throughout its lifecycle.
  • Analyze the impacts of configuration management change processes on lifecycle sustainment.
  • Develop and manage all CDRL requirements, ensuring proper documentation and data management.
  • Update and maintain electronic database toolkits, ensuring accurate data tracking.
  • Plan and implement Functional Configuration Audits (FCAs) and Physical Configuration Audits (PCAs), ensuring audit data adequacy.
  • Participate in Government reviews, meetings, working groups, and industry teams to resolve complex configuration management issues.
  • Assist in developing and executing the Configuration Control Board (CCB) charter, and actively participate in the CCB processes.
  • Review program specifications for hardware and software to ensure all configuration management requirements are met.
  • Conduct in-process reviews of engineering drawings and facilitate the assignment of nomenclature and CPIN for Configuration Items (CIs).
  • Ensure proper marking of CIs and Computer Software CIs (CSCIs) and verify associated documentation is accurate and approved.
  • Manage the documentation and baseline updates for controlled configurations, ensuring proper integration into the contract.
  • Assist in reviewing Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs), Change Control Proposals (CCPs), and Requests for Deviation (RFDs) for format and content requirements.
  • Collaborate in the resolution of discrepancies and issues between the government and contractors.
  • Ensure consistency in configuration management practices, aligning product attributes with requirements and design.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications/ Technical Experience Requirements:

  • Must have an active Secret Clearance
  • Must be US Citizen
  • Must have High School Diploma/GED
  • 10 years of experience in the respective profession being performed, five of which must be in the DoD.
  • Experience in configuration management and data management, ideally in defense contracting (USAF or FMS).
  • Familiarity with configuration management principles and processes, including configuration identification, change control, and status accounting.
  • Experience with Multi-User Engineering Change Proposal Automated Review System (MEARS).
  • Knowledge of system verification reviews, FCAs, and PCAs.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, particularly in assessing the impact of proposed changes on sustainment and system supportability.
  • Experience with CCB execution and tracking change proposals through various stages.
  • Ability to interact with government and industry teams, as well as preparing reports and documentation for CCBs and audits.
  • Proficiency in the use of electronic configuration management tools and databases.
