Job description

Summary
The Quality Associate supports both quality assurance and quality control initiatives regarding Production and Operations to ensure that customer requirements are met, and any discrepancies are resolved. This position reports to the Quality Manager and provides technical support, leads inspection department functions, determines validity of discrepancies, resolves customer and internal non-conformances, and determines root cause.
Essential Functions

  1. Organize, collect, and analyze quality data to ensure that product meets or exceeds customer expectations.
  2. Identification and verification of current documents, drawings, and procedures for specific processes
  3. Investigate quality issues and trends from customer complaints, NCRs, CAPAs, etc. to identify actions required.
  4. Produce customer reports for deliverables which can include C of C, charts, graphs, or other customer required info.
  5. Maintain the non-conforming material log to support material review board meetings
  6. Perform internal and supplier audits, issue audit reports, and follow up to close out actions which address findings with Quality Coordinator.
  7. Participate in continual improvement activities, such as 6S, SPC, Kaizen and other Six Sigma projects
  8. Support sustaining CET ISO 9001 certification.
  9. Maintain a safe and clean working environment

There may be some leadership responsibility in this role
Work Environment
This position requires time spent on the shop floor and exposure to shop elements including noise, moving parts, dust, and fumes. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets. The Quality Associate must have no known allergy to epoxy agents and can become certified to wear a respirator.
Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to work in noisy and dust filled spaces, climb on and around large structures. Employee may need to lift heavy materials, sit, or stand for extended periods of time.
Position Type & Expected Work Hours
This is a full-time hourly position, Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m.-3:30p.m. This position may require longer hours and weekend work.
Travel
Minimal travel is expected for this position.
Required Education and Experience
  1. High School Diploma, GED, and 5-7 years of experience in related field
  2. Proficiency with standard testing tools including calipers, micrometers, depth gauge, pin gages, scales, 3D Scanning, and height gages (Trimos)
  3. ASQ Certified Inspector
  4. Experience as a trained ISO 9001-2015 internal auditor
  5. Ability to be organized/focused in a distracting environment
  6. Must be self-motivated, energetic, and highly organized with outstanding attention to detail
  7. Experience with problem solving methodology (ie. 5Why, fishbone/Ishikawa, etc)
  8. Must have strong analysis and reporting skills
  9. Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint, and Outlook
  10. Ability to read, write, and speak English

Preferred Education & Experience
  1. Associate or bachelor's degree
  2. Knowledge of LEAN manufacturing principles
  3. Calibration experience
  4. Knowledge of OSHA Regulations
