Technical Specialist – Microbiology


Full-Time | Nevada

A growing clinical laboratory is seeking an experienced Technical Specialist in Microbiology to support laboratory operations in a high-volume, 24/7 hospital environment serving both inpatient and outpatient populations of all ages.

This role requires a strong background in clinical microbiology, along with leadership-level technical expertise to support testing accuracy, quality standards, and laboratory workflow.


Responsibilities

• Provide technical oversight and expertise in microbiology laboratory operations

• Ensure accuracy, quality control, and compliance with laboratory regulations and safety standards

• Support laboratory staff and assist with troubleshooting complex testing procedures

• Maintain compliance with hospital and laboratory safety protocols

• Communicate effectively with physicians, clinical staff, patients, and families during specialized procedures

• Contribute to efficient laboratory workflow in a fast-paced hospital setting


Requirements

Minimum 5 years of clinical microbiology laboratory experience required

• Minimum 3 years of Clinical Laboratory Science experience in the area of oversight

State of Nevada Clinical Laboratory Technologist or Histotechnologist license required at time of hire

• Ability to obtain and maintain Nevada General Supervisor license

National certification required: Medical Laboratory Scientist (ASCP), Histotechnologist (ASCP), or equivalent

ASCP Specialist Certification preferred
