Basic knowledge of simple HTML coding
Knowledge of Chicago and AP (Associated Press) style
Knowledge of home repair and improvement
Requirements:
Writes in an easy-to-read, conversational style
Works well under deadline pressure
Possesses a gut-level understanding of the difference between good writing and bad
Has an instinctive aversion to the passive voice and the superfluous use of the future tense
Is comfortable having work edited
Can learn house editorial style
Works well in a collaborative atmosphere and also can work independently
Duties:
Research and write short articles (500-750 words) for a website devoted to helping homeowners maintain and improve their homes and yards.
Edit and proofread other writers’ articles.
Enter articles and other content into a content management system.
