Job Title: Electronic Technician Trainee
Location: Katy, TX 77493
Duration: 6+ Months
Pay Rate: $23.50–$27.00/hr on W2

Job Summary
The Electronic Technician Trainee is responsible for maintaining, testing, troubleshooting, and repairing electronic and electromechanical equipment to support operational demands. This role focuses on improving equipment reliability, reducing maintenance downtime, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives within a maintenance base environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform maintenance, testing, troubleshooting, and repair of electronic and electromechanical equipment.
  • Use diagnostic tools such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, calipers, and other measuring devices.
  • Assemble and rebuild components, including bearing packs and related assemblies.
  • Conduct equipment testing, flow loop testing, and basic programming tasks.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records in computerized maintenance management systems.
  • Track labor, parts usage, work orders, and equipment maintenance history.
  • Support failure investigations and root cause analysis activities.
  • Participate in continuous improvement projects to increase equipment reliability and reduce downtime.
  • Assist with repair, refurbishment, and reuse of equipment components.
  • Follow maintenance procedures, safety standards, and company policies.
  • Support productivity and turnaround time objectives within the maintenance facility.
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant technical experience, OR
  • Associate degree/2-year technical diploma in Electronics Technology, OR
  • Military maintenance/electronics experience.
  • Basic understanding of electronics and mechanical systems.
  • Experience using multimeters, oscilloscopes, hand tools, and measuring instruments.
  • Strong computer and data entry skills.
  • Ability to read and follow technical procedures and work instructions.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with rotary steerable systems or similar oilfield equipment.
  • Soldering experience.
  • ISO-related certifications or training.
  • Background in equipment maintenance, repair, or troubleshooting within industrial or oilfield environments.
Work Environment
  • Industrial maintenance/shop environment.
  • Exposure to oil, grease, drilling fluids, and field-returned equipment.
  • PPE and coveralls required.
  • Not a laboratory or clean-room setting.
Schedule
  • 1st Shift: Approximately 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM
  • Frequent overtime and weekend work required.
