Position Overview:

The IT Product Manager drives the execution and successful delivery of technology-driven development initiatives.  Under the direction of senior IT leadership, this role is pivotal in managing definition, scope, and design for the development of new product software and enhancements. This role facilitates cross-functional prioritization of development tasks, and execution of a roadmap focused on consolidation, integration, and optimization of business systems.  Their focus is on a diverse portfolio of platforms and applications, including the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system, custom web applications, and third-party Software as a Service (SaaS) solutions. By combining technical expertise, focused product planning, and strong stakeholder collaboration, the IT Product Manager ensures business objectives guide the development and delivery of new software and enhancements.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Work with business stakeholders on approved products to develop and document product requirements and a prioritized roadmap, enabling development of new software and enhancements that alignment with the business’s goals and objectives.
  • Create, prioritize, and maintain the product backlog, ensuring it reflects the needs of stakeholders and the development team.
  • Facilitate prioritization of development tasks to ensure timely delivery of high-impact features.
  • Work closely with the business, technical teams, and external vendors, to gather requirements, understand needs, and ensure successful product delivery.
  • Collaborate with technical teams and business units to ensure effective communication and document, validate, and manage platform requirements to ensure accurate development.
  • Lead cross-functional teams through all phases of the Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC), ensuring timely and accurate delivery of features and enhancements.
  • Drive adherence to established procedures during development to ensure efficient and effective delivery of technical solutions.
  • Continuously improve user experience, using feedback and data-driven insight, to design and develop new enhancements.
  • Perform validation, testing, and stakeholder review to ensure new product development meets performance standards and delivers value to the business.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive product documentation and present completed software features to stakeholders as part of the development lifecycle to validate functionality and support final testing and acceptance.
  • Document and transfer technical knowledge during the development phase to support deployment and ensure smooth delivery of new software features.
  • Complete any additional responsibilities and/or duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a product management role or a closely related position such as application development manager.
  • Proven ability to lead complex technology projects involving software development, system integration, or infrastructure upgrades.
  • Strong familiarity with SDLC phases and associated project deliverables.
  • Prior experience in managing cross-functional teams and engaging with both technical and business stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and precision in execution.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including occasional evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage sensitive information with integrity and discretion.

Physical Requirements:

  • Minimal travel to stores and distribution centers.
  • Duties frequently involve being seated for extended periods of time and using computers.
  • Ability to remain in a normal seated position regularly.
  • Ability to see, hear, and speak regularly.
  • Ability to grip, reach, and pinch with arms and hands frequently.
  • Ability to bend and twist occasionally.
  • Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
