To thrive as a Tech Manager, you need a solid background in software development or IT, leadership experience, and often a degree in computer science or a related field. Familiarity with project management tools (like Jira or Trello), cloud platforms, and sometimes certifications such as PMP or AWS Certified Solutions Architect are valuable. Strong communication, problem-solving, and team-building skills set outstanding Tech Managers apart. These competencies are crucial for effectively leading technical teams, ensuring successful project delivery, and aligning technology initiatives with business goals.

The exact split can vary depending on company size and project phase, but successful Tech Managers prioritize clear communication and delegation to ensure both technical goals and team development are met. This role offers opportunities to influence both technology direction and team culture.
