Clarke University invites applications for the 10-month, 30 hour per week position of Accessibility Services Coordinator. The Accessibility Services Coordinator is responsible for coordinating appropriate academic and other accommodations for students with disabilities and works with a diverse caseload that includes students with learning disabilities, attention disorders, chronic health conditions, and mental health-related disabilities. The Accessibility Services Coordinator works individually with students but also collaborates with faculty and other campus offices to provide services and accommodations to students, as well as educate and build awareness across the Clarke community regarding disability access and student support. The Accessibility Services Coordinator reports to the Dean of Academic Affairs.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesServe as the official university disability services coordinator.Interpret and apply federal and state regulations to ensure compliance.Determine and disseminate reasonable, appropriate, and approved academic, housing, and activity-related accommodations for students.Instruct students on the accommodation process, acquiring and using assistive technology, and effective strategies for learning.Maintain, administer, and recommend assistive technology systems.Maintain confidential student and compliance records, ensuring that all student case notes, documentation, and forms are kept secure and updated in a timely and accurate fashion.Collaborate with faculty and campus partners to facilitate implementation of approved accommodations and resolve accommodation-related concerns.Proctor and support testing accommodations.QualificationsThe successful candidate will have a master's degree in a related area (e.g., counseling, special education, psychology, rehabilitation) and a minimum of two years' experience in disability support services, counseling, student advocacy, or special education. Prior work experience in a higher education setting preferred.
