Job description

Works with internal stakeholders to support vendor contracting by partnering to strategically select the right vendor relationships and negotiate the best contracts to support business needs. Delivers optimal cost, product or service quality and value in third-party vendor contracting. Performs other duties as assigned.
Key Accountabilities
  • Negotiation
    • Lead contracting efforts for existing vendors to ensure timely completion of contract renewals, contract amendments and contract extensions.
    • Leverage and follow Medica's contract templates, tools, and playbooks to ensure consistency in contract negotiations across the team.
    • Develop and negotiate contracts for standard products and services with vendors in collaboration with Legal, Technology, Finance, and Operations. Ensure that contracts include Medica-preferred terms and conditions, pricing, and service level agreements in order to meet business needs and achieve business outcomes.
  • Business Relationship Management
    • Utilize effective communication and collaboration skills to establish strong relationships with business partners.
    • Partner with internal teams to understand contracting needs with existing vendors and for expiring contracts.
    • Effectively communicate information in a succinct and timely manner with stakeholders with the ability to flex communication style appropriately depending on the level of audience.
  • Contract Management
    • Maintain and update contract records, ensuring that relevant and accurate data is entered into Medica's contract management tool timely.
    • Analyze data and plan for contract renewals and extensions in area of responsibility.
    • Respond to internal stakeholder questions on notifications and educate on processes for contract renewals, amendments and extensions.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in related field
  • 5+ years of related work experience beyond degree

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience performing contract negotiations.
  • Experience drafting and editing contract documents.
  • Healthcare experience.
  • Proven or demonstrated understanding of contracts and negotiations.
  • Proven or demonstrated skills in collaboration, team work, professionalism, and positive interactions with others.
  • Self-motivated and organized, with the ability to manage multiple concurrent tasks.
  • Ability to exercise independent judgement when managing workload and prioritizing work.
  • Experience communicating information in a succinct and timely manner with stakeholders.
  • Ability to flex communication style appropriately depending on the levels of audience.
  • Critical thinking and problem solving skills.

This position is an Office role, which requires an employee to work onsite, on average, 3 days per week. We are open to candidates located near one of the following office locations: Minnetonka, MN, or Madison, WI.
The full salary grade for this position is $78,700 - $134,900. While the full salary grade is provided, the typical hiring salary range for this role is expected to be between $78,700 - $118,020. Annual salary range placement will depend on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, education, work experience, applicable certifications and/or licensure, the position's scope and responsibility, internal pay equity and external market salary data. In addition to compensation, Medica offers a generous total rewards package that includes competitive medical, dental, vision, PTO, Holidays, paid volunteer time off, 401K contributions, caregiver services and many other benefits to support our employees.
