What are tech companies remote jobs?

Tech companies remote jobs are positions offered by technology companies that allow employees to work from locations outside of a traditional office environment, such as from home or co-working spaces. These roles can include software development, product management, marketing, customer support, and more. Remote jobs in tech companies often provide flexibility in work hours and location, leveraging digital communication and collaboration tools to stay connected. As remote work becomes increasingly popular, many tech companies are expanding their remote job offerings to attract talent from around the world.

What are some common challenges when working remotely for tech companies, and how can I effectively address them?

Remote roles at tech companies often require strong self-motivation and clear communication, as you may not have in-person access to your team. Common challenges include staying productive without direct supervision, managing time zone differences, and building relationships with colleagues virtually. To address these, it's important to establish a dedicated workspace, proactively communicate using collaboration tools, and participate in virtual team meetings and social events. Regular check-ins with your manager and team can also help foster connection and ensure alignment on goals.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in remote roles at tech companies, and why are they important?

To thrive in remote roles at tech companies, you generally need strong technical expertise relevant to your field (such as software development, UX/UI design, or data analysis), typically backed by a relevant degree or equivalent experience. Familiarity with collaboration tools like Slack, Zoom, GitHub, Jira, and cloud-based platforms is crucial, and certifications such as AWS Certified Developer or Scrum Master can be advantageous. Excellent communication, self-motivation, and time management skills help remote employees stand out by ensuring productivity and smooth collaboration across distributed teams. These skills and qualifications are essential for maintaining high performance, effective teamwork, and delivering results in a virtual work environment.

Job description

SENIOR COUNSEL โ€“ EMERGING COMPANIES

Remote (U.S.-based) | Central or Pacific time zones strongly preferred

-------------------------------------------------------------

COMPENSATION

Base: $200,000--$230,000

Total Compensation: Base + 15% performance bonus target + meaningful equity + 401(k) match + comprehensive health insurance + parental leave

-------------------------------------------------------------

WHY THIS ROLE

No billable hours. That's the headline. This is an AI-native law firm operating on outcome-based pricing where experienced attorneys use modern AI workflows to do high-caliber emerging companies work without the hourly grind. You own matters end-to-end and work directly with founders from pre-seed through later-stage rounds โ€” no handoffs, no supervision layer. On top of a strong base and a 15% performance bonus target, there's meaningful equity โ€” genuine ownership in the firm, which is rare for any attorney role. If you're already using AI in your practice and want to help build what a modern law firm actually looks like, this is an early seat at that table.

-------------------------------------------------------------

ABOUT THE ROLE

Senior ECVC role at a small AI-native law firm, running venture financings (priced rounds, SAFEs, convertible notes), formations, and equity issuances for both companies and investors start to finish. You'll serve as the primary point of contact for startup clients โ€” advising founders on corporate, governance, employment, and IP issues at each growth stage โ€” and help build out the firm's emerging companies vertical, including playbooks and AI-assisted workflows.

-------------------------------------------------------------

REQUIREMENTS

Experience: 4โ€“8 years ECVC

- 4+ years of emerging companies / venture capital experience at a top ECVC firm

- Ability to run a deal independently from start to finish โ€” full lifecycle, not just supervised pieces of it

- Actively using modern AI tools in legal practice today, with a point of view on what works

- Strong client-facing presence โ€” warm, direct communicator who can build trust with founders and investors

- Builder mindset: genuine interest in improving legal processes and contributing beyond core deal work

Bar Admission: Active admission in at least one U.S. jurisdiction in good standing

Visa Sponsorship: Not available

Tech Stack: Slack, Greenhouse, AI-native legal workflow tools

-------------------------------------------------------------

LOGISTICS

Location: Remote, U.S.-based

Work Policy: Fully remote; coverage hours 8am ET โ€“ 6โ€“8pm PT; Central and Pacific time zones strongly preferred
