and strengthen our brand presence through innovation, community engagement, and a commitment to consistency and quality.ย We are seeking an enthusiastic and engaging Dumpling Class Instructor to lead interactive cooking classes and create memorable experiences for guests of all skill levels.
Position Summary
The Dumpling Class Instructor will guide groups of participants through the process of making dumplings from scratch, including dough preparation, rolling techniques, filling preparation, folding methods, and cooking techniques. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about food, enjoys teaching others, and can confidently engage groups in a fun and welcoming environment.
*This is a 1099 contract-based position in Bellevue, WAย  with flexible scheduling based on class availability.
Responsibilities
  • Lead hands-on dumpling-making classes for groups of varying sizes
  • Demonstrate proper dough rolling and preparation techniques
  • Teach multiple dumpling folding styles and techniques
  • Guide participants through filling, assembly, and steaming processes
  • Create an engaging, fun, and educational classroom environment
  • Answer participant questions and provide individualized instruction as needed
  • Ensure food safety and cleanliness standards are maintained throughout each class
  • Assist with class setup and cleanup as needed
  • Represent the Dough Zone brand professionally and positively
Qualifications
  • Previous culinary, restaurant, catering, cooking instruction, or relevant food preparation experience
  • Strong communication and public speaking skills
  • Comfortable teaching and interacting with groups
  • Friendly, energetic, and engaging personality
  • Ability to explain techniques clearly to beginners
  • Reliable, organized, and punctual
  • Knowledge of dumpling-making techniques preferred
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience teaching cooking classes, workshops, or demonstrations
  • Experience hosting events or leading group activities
  • Familiarity with Chinese, Taiwanese, Japanese, Korean, or other dumpling traditions
  • Food Handler Permit (or willingness to obtain one)
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand for extended periods
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds
  • Ability to work in a kitchen environment
Compensation
Pay range: $36-$54/hr.ย 
Each session is approximately 3 to 3.5 hours, including class duration, pre-class setup, and post-class cleanup
