Interventional Pain Managemen - Woodbridge, VA & other locations TBD

About the Role:

The Interventional Pain Management Physician plays a critical role in diagnosing and treating patients suffering from acute and chronic pain conditions, with a focus on minimally invasive procedures. This position requires a comprehensive understanding of pain mechanisms and the ability to develop individualized treatment plans that improve patient quality of life. The physician will collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams, including orthopedic specialists, to address complex pain syndromes related to musculoskeletal disorders. A key outcome of this role is to reduce patients' pain levels while minimizing reliance on systemic medications, thereby enhancing functional outcomes. The physician will also contribute to ongoing patient education and support, ensuring adherence to treatment protocols and promoting long-term wellness.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution.
  • Board certification in Pain Medicine or Anesthesiology with a subspecialty in Pain Management.
  • Valid medical license to practice in the relevant jurisdiction.
  • Demonstrated experience in interventional pain procedures, particularly related to orthopedic conditions.
  • Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and pharmacology relevant to pain management.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Fellowship training in Interventional Pain Management or related subspecialty.
  • Experience working within multidisciplinary pain clinics or orthopedic departments.
  • Familiarity with the latest advancements in pain management technologies and techniques.
  • Research experience or publications in pain management or orthopedic-related pain.
  • Certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).

Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate patients presenting with various pain conditions, particularly those related to orthopedic issues, through detailed history-taking and physical examination.
  • Develop and implement interventional pain management plans using techniques such as nerve blocks, epidural injections, and radiofrequency ablation.
  • Collaborate with orthopedic surgeons, physical therapists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate comprehensive care.
  • Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment strategies based on clinical outcomes and patient feedback.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed medical records, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations and standards.
