Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Tax Accountant to join our growing public accounting team in Merrillville, IN. This role is ideal for a self-starter with a strong background in tax compliance and advisory services who is passionate about delivering exceptional client service.
As a Senior Tax Accountant, you will lead tax and accounting engagements for privately held businesses and nonprofit organizations, serving as a trusted advisor and primary point of contact for clients. You will play a key role in preparing and reviewing complex tax returns, conducting tax research, and providing strategic tax planning services.

Key Responsibilities
Tax Preparation & Review
Prepare and review individual, corporate, and partnership federal and state tax returns
Ensure compliance with all applicable tax laws and regulations
Handle complex tax scenarios, including multi-entity and multi-state filings
Tax Research & Advisory
Conduct in-depth federal and state tax research
Summarize findings and provide actionable recommendations to clients and leadership
Stay current with evolving tax laws, regulations, and industry trends
Client Management & Advisory
Serve as the primary point of contact for clients
Build and maintain strong, long-term client relationships
Provide year-end tax planning and advisory services for individuals and businesses
Accounting & Financial Analysis
Analyze annual trial balances and financial statements
Perform account reconciliations and prepare year-end journal entries
Support clients with general accounting and financial reporting needs
Team Leadership & Development
Assist in mentoring and developing junior staff
Review work prepared by staff accountants and provide constructive feedback
Contribute to a collaborative and supportive team environment
Required Qualifications
Preferred Qualifications
CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or EA (Enrolled Agent) license
Experience with multi-state and multi-entity tax engagements
Proficiency in QuickBooks and CCH tax software
