Job description

Position Description: We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically strong US Tax Associate to join our growing tax team. This role involves preparing and reviewing a wide range of federal and state tax returns for individuals and business entities while ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely delivery. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in US tax preparation, a strong working knowledge of Drake Tax software, and the ability to interact with the clients and offshore team.

  • Prepare and review federal and state income tax returns, including:
    • Form 1040 – Individual Income Tax Returns
    • Form 1065 – Partnership Returns
    • Form 1120S – S Corporation Returns
    • Form 1120 – C Corporation Returns
    • Form 1041 – Fiduciary/Trust Returns
    • Form 990 – Nonprofit Organisation Returns
  • Prepare workpapers and supporting documentation in accordance with firm standards and IRS compliance requirements
  • Utilize Drake Tax as the primary software platform for tax preparation, diagnostics, e-filing, and workflow management
  • Perform Schedule D and Form 8949 reconciliations involving:
    • capital gains/losses
    • brokerage statements
    • equity compensation
    • cost basis adjustments
  • Assist in responding to IRS and state tax notices, correspondence, and information requests.
  • Coordinate with internal team members and client contacts to gather missing information and ensure timely filing completion.
  • Stay updated on federal and state tax law changes, IRS guidance, and tax software enhancements.
