Pathway Talent Partners is recruiting a Tax Planning Specialist on behalf of a wellestablished, independent wealth management firm with a national client base. The firm has a multidecade history of delivering integrated wealth management, consulting, and planning services to highnetworth individuals, families, business owners, retirement plans, and foundations.
The Tax Planning Specialist plays a critical role in supporting advisors and clients by developing and coordinating sophisticated taxefficient strategies across income, estate, and business planning. This role is ideal for a taxfocused professional who enjoys technical analysis, planning strategy, collaboration, and client education—without preparing tax returns or providing legal or tax advice.

Position Summary
The Tax Planning Specialist partners closely with Wealth Advisors to help clients understand tax planning opportunities and implications related to income, estate, gifting, trust, and business planning. The role supports proactive, forwardlooking tax strategies and helps clients coordinate planning with their external CPAs and legal advisors.
Internally, this position serves as a subjectmatter resource for taxrelated planning considerations, including entity structures, investment tax efficiency, trust and estate tax exposure, and transitions following liquidity events. The role blends technical tax expertise with clientfacing communication and crossfunctional collaboration to ensure planning strategies are aligned with overall wealth goals.
Key
ResponsibilitiesClient & Advisor Support
- Educate clients on basic and advanced tax planning concepts and strategies
- Partner with clients’ CPAs and attorneys to support coordinated taxefficient planning
- Provide guidance on tax considerations related to trusts, estates, charitable planning, and wealth transfer
- Support tax planning related to business ownership, liquidity events, and succession planning
Technical & Analytical Work
- Review and analyze tax returns, planning summaries, and related financial documents
- Identify tax planning strategies that may help clients reduce tax exposure and improve aftertax outcomes
- Conduct research on income, estate, gift, and business tax topics and prepare written summaries and updates
- Evaluate tax implications of investment, entity, and distribution strategies
Internal Collaboration
- Serve as an internal resource on tax planning topics including entity structures, trust taxation, and investment tax efficiency
- Support advisors and client service teams with taxrelated planning questions and client requests
- Partner with advisors, client service, and operations teams to deliver a seamless and wellcoordinated client experience
Additional Duties
- Perform other responsibilities that contribute to the effectiveness of the role and the organization
Required Qualifications
- 6+ years of experience working with highnetworth individuals on tax planning matters
- Strong working knowledge of individual, trust, estate, and business tax concepts
- Experience coordinating with external tax and legal professionals preferred
