The Senior Staff Accountant - Tax should possess leadership qualities
This position is responsible for preparing and/or directing more than one tax engagement at a time. This position is also responsible for the orderly completion of these engagements and keeping the manager, Director and Partner informed of progress and unusual developments. Senior Staff Accountants - Tax assist clients by providing a full spectrum of individual, partnership, corporation and other tax services including client assistance, planning, research and compliance. Technical skills are necessary to assist in all tasks associated with tax engagements, including the mentorship and training of Tax Staff. International tax experience is a plus.
Responsibilities include:
  • Review and deliver tax projections to clients.
  • Handle complex compliance tax research assignments and preparation of tax memorandums.
  • Meet with the IRS and FRB agents to interface on examinations
  • Manage review and mentor work of Tax Staff Accountants and Semi-Senior Staff Accountants.
  • Answer tax questions of staff from all departments.
  • Prepare written review of Tax Staff Accountants and Semi-Senior Staff Accountants.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Experience and Skills
Qualifications:
  • Bachelors degree in Accounting
  • 4-5+ year of experience working in a public accounting firm.
  • Proficient in corporate, individual and partnership taxation, international tax a plus.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Presentation skills and strong organizational techniques are required.
  • Capable of managing multiple client engagements in addition to completing tasks related to business development.
  • CPA license; Master's degree in Taxation is a plus.
  • A service mentality and excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently on assignments and address issues or questions with engagement manager or partner
  • Strong time management, organizational abilities, attention to detail, communication, and interpersonal skills are required
  • Knowledge and demonstrate proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Office applications, PFX Tax and CCH Engagement.
