We are currently recruiting for a Tax Analyst for a large, reputable corporation in the Richmond, VA area.
Tax Analyst
Location: Richmond/ hybrid

We're looking for a Tax Analyst to support corporate and tax activities including compliance, reporting, and process ownership. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with a foundation in tax accounting and a passion for continuous improvement.

About the Role


As a member of our finance and tax team, you'll contribute to the financial stability of our organization by supporting the preparation and review of tax filings, financial statement provisions, and internal reporting. You'll collaborate with other tax professionals and business partners to ensure accurate, timely, and efficient processes while staying up to date on regulatory changes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in preparing and reviewing federal, state, and international income tax returns
  • Prepare quarterly and annual tax provisions under GAAP and STAT for corporate entities
  • Lead key tax processes and provide technical support on complex tax issues
  • Support multi-year financial planning activities from a tax perspective
  • Ensure accuracy of tax data through reconciliation and internal reporting
  • Research tax issues and contribute to process improvements
  • Participate in ad hoc tax-related projects and initiatives

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
  • 2–5 years of relevant experience, including 1–4 years in corporate tax, federal tax or income tax
  • Solid grasp of GAAP and ASC 740 tax accounting principles
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills across teams and management levels
  • Ability to work independently and manage shifting priorities
  • Analytical mindset with attention to detail and data accuracy

Preferred Qualifications

  • CPA certification or progress toward CPA
  • Public accounting experience, especially with a Big 4 firm
  • Creative problem-solving skills and ability to improve processes
