Job Summary:

The Tasting Room Supervisor supports the daily operations of the Ponte Winery Tasting Room by providing floor leadership, guest service support, and associate coaching. This role is responsible for helping ensure service standards are consistently executed, assisting with tasting room procedures, as well as supporting sales and wine club initiatives.

Schedule:

  • Wednesday-Sunday
  • Must be available to work weekends, holidays, and peak seasons
  • Flexibility required to support business needs

Compensation: $27.00 hourly

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Guest Experience & Hospitality Leadership

  • Serve as a visible floor leader, ensuring a warm, polished, and consistent guest experience.
  • Support service recovery by resolving guest concerns promptly and professionally.
  • Maintain service standards, pacing, cleanliness, and guest engagement throughout service.

Sales Performance & Wine Club Growth

  • Support achievement of daily/monthly tasting room sales goals through active floor leadership and coaching.
  • Promote and reinforce wine club sign-ups by ensuring associates confidently communicate membership benefits and incentives.
  • Coach associates in suggestive selling, wine education, upselling strategies, and conversion opportunities.

Merchandising, Retail Presentation & Product Standards

  • Maintain exceptional visual standards across the tastingroomretail space (stock levels, signage, organization, cleanliness, and display presentation).
  • Monitor product flow and ensure retail areas are always guest-ready and aligned with brand standards.
  • Support proper product handling and merchandising execution to maximize retail revenue.

Team Oversight, Training & Shift Execution

  • Support shift execution by directing workflow, assigning side work, andassistingwith break coverage and staffing adjustments.
  • Train and coach associates in service standards, brand knowledge, POS procedures, and sales expectations.

Operational Excellence (POS, Cash Handling, Compliance)

  • Ensure accuracy and consistency with POS transactions, opening/closing procedures, and cash handling standards.
  • Support operational checklists, standard processes, and policy adherence.
  • Maintain compliance with alcohol service laws, food safety requirements (as applicable), and California meal/rest period compliance.
  • Any other duties as assigned by your Manager.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Other Requirements

  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
  • Minimum 2–3 years of supervisory experience in a food & beverage environment, with winery/tasting room experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong sales ability withdemonstratedsuccess supporting tasting room revenue goals, including Wine Club sign-ups and conversion.
  • Commerce7 and TOK experience strongly preferred, including transactions, guest profiles, Wine Club enrollment/support, and basic reporting.
  • TOAST POS experiencestronglypreferred, including transactions, modifiers, discounts, tip adjustments, and end-of-day procedures.
  • Strong leadership presence with the ability to coach associates, maintain accountability, and support shift execution.
  • Excellent guest service and communication skills, including the ability to support service recovery professionally.
  • Strong retail and merchandising standards (stock levels, presentation, signage, displays, and product readiness).
  • High attention to detail and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, guest-facing environment.
  • Must maintain required certifications as applicable (e.g., Food Handler, Responsible Beverage Service/Server Permit).
