As a Tasting Room Server/Bartender, you own the guest experience. From the hub of their table, guests will explore the Snack Bar, Tasting Room, General Store and Tour Path. Your knowledge and insight provide them with the information to cater their experience to make it their own. You are friendly and helpful and a wealth of menu knowledge. By the end of their visit, guests can't wait to return for your exceptional service and to discover more.  

Requirements

Daily Duties:

  • Welcome all guests to the brewery
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of beer ingredients including malt, hops, yeast, and water, and how each contributes to flavor, aroma, appearance, and mouthfeel. 
  • Communicate brewing processes and beer styles in a way that is engaging, approachable, and educational for guests. 
  • Guide guests through beer selections by identifying flavor preferences and recommending appropriate styles, flights, and seasonal offerings. 
  • Maintain a working knowledge of Troegs beers, limited releases, brewing techniques, ingredients, and current brewery initiatives. 
  • Confidently describe flavor profiles using sensory characteristics such as bitterness, sweetness, body, aroma, balance, and finish. 
  • Promote exploration and discovery by encouraging guests to sample new styles and learn about the brewing process.
  • Pour beers according to Brewers Association proper pour standards
  • Prepare classic and house cocktails according to established recipes, specifications, and presentation standards. 
  • Demonstrate working knowledge of spirits, liqueurs, bitters, cocktail ingredients, and flavor profiles. 
  • Properly measure, mix, garnish, and serve cocktails while maintaining consistency and quality. 
  • Maintain cocktail bar mise en place  including juices, syrups, garnishes, glassware, and ice throughout service.
  • Apply all guidelines for responsible alcohol service (RAMP training)
  • Complete regular cash and credit transactions with accuracy and efficiency
  • Manages table timing efficiently while providing exceptional guest service
  • Accurately places and fills orders 
  • Runs beverages to tables promptly after order is placed
  • Offers refills to customers after beverages are half empty
  • Pre-busses and busses tables in assigned sections and assists other coworkers with service tasks
  • Maintains a clean and organized work space
  • Upholds all health and safety standards
  • Complete all posted opening, running and closing side work tasks

  • Ability to execute multiple orders accurately and efficiently in a high-volume environment. 
  • Understanding of craft beer ingredients, techniques and flavor profiles in order to speak to guests about the nuances of our beers. 
  • Understanding of cocktail techniques including stirring, shaking, building, garnishing, and proper glassware selection. 
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to recipe adherence, presentation, and consistency.
  • Strong work ethic and high energy
  • Minimum of 6 months working as a server or bartender in a high-volume establish

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand, bend, stoop, reach and walk constantly for long periods of time - up to 7 hours
  • Ability to safely navigate the Tasting Room and Snack Bar areas including crowded spaces, wet/slippery floors, hot or sharp kitchen equipment and tools, and/or stairs
  • Ability to lift, carry and maneuver cases of beer weighing up to 35 lbs.
  • Ability to lift, carry and maneuver barrel kegs weighing up to 200 lbs. with the assistance of another co-worker

Work Schedule:

  • Less than 30 hours per week
  • Must be able to work evenings, weekends and some holidays, as needed.

Work Environment:

Troegs Brewing Company is a climate-controlled brewing and packaging facility. The following is a representative list of what a co-worker might encounter during a typical work day:

  • Hot water,
  • Steam,
  • Pressurized vessels, and
  • Loud working areas.

Co-workers regularly handle hazardous materials and regularly come in contact with broken glass and wet floors while working in close proximity to moving mechanical parts.
