Join an award-winning experience. Oliver Winery, recently named the #2 tasting room in the U.S., is seeking outgoing, guest-focused team members to help deliver exceptional hospitality. This part-time position starts at $13.50/hour plus tips averaging $5–$7/hour, with opportunities to learn about wine and be part of a nationally recognized team.


POSITION SUMMARY: This position is responsible for ensuring that customers have a positive and memorable experience at Oliver Winery by serving and sharing knowledge of wines and assisting customers.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Greets customers promptly and courteously.
  • Creates a welcoming environment for the customer by assisting, as well as quickly responding to customer inquiries and needs.
  • Guides customers to wines they enjoy.
  • Assists with setup and cleanup of daily operations and special events.
  • Stocks wine and retail merchandise in the tasting room.
  • Assists with quarterly inventory and accurately performs money handling procedures.
  • Offers tours of the winemaking facility.
  • Additional duties, as assigned by the Management.
Requirements:

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be able to work flexible shifts and schedules, primarily weekends. Weekend availability is a must.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to stand, walk, lift and bend for up to 8 hours a day.
  • Must be able to possess an Indiana Bartender’s Permit.
  • Experience in retail or customer service.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Solid math skills.
  • Because of the nature of this position, must be at least 21 years of age to apply.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT: This position requires the ability to stand, walk, lift and bend for up to 8 hours a day. You will also need the ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds when working on the retail floor.

PERFORMANCE STANDARDS: Annual performance review conducted by Management.

Typical Schedule: Shift availability and length varies, dependent on the season and Hospitality needs. Shift length typically varies between 5-8 hours and the typical schedule will be 10-20 hours per week mostly on weekends (Fri-Sun) until 9pm.
