Job description
This position will coordinate the Tribal TANF/Child Welfare Coordination Grant. This position will coordinate service delivery, coordinated procedural changes, the development of coordinated policy, the grant project and programs pursuant to approved program and grant objectives. The Project Coordinator will coordinate the management and other related grant related duties with a high degree of independence and initiative. The Family Services Program Manager and Department Director assists when clarification or interpretations of established policies/regulations are needed. This position will take the lead in coordinating system change and grant objectives.
All Tolowa Dee‑ni' Nation employees must submit to a background check and abide by Tribal, federal, and state laws. All employees must comply with Tolowa Dee‑ni' Nation drug‑free workplace policy and will be subject to pre‑employment, random, for‑cause, and post‑accident drug and alcohol testing. Qualified American Indian Preference applies.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Develop and maintain grant program/project policies and procedures to meet federal, state and local regulations.
- Create and maintain files on current and past grant projects and applications.
- Assist in preparation and monitoring of grant reporting, including tracking client services and other grant specific data.
- Schedule, plan and attend regular project meetings to ensure projects are on track.
- Assist with planning and developing strategies for sustaining the program, including the preparation of grant proposals, as needed.
- Responsible for project development and implementation.
- Participate in program monitoring to ensure that grant goals, objectives and mandates are on schedule and achieved.
- Submit monthly activity reports to the Department Director.
- Facilitates a team approach to project management ensuring a favorable work climate and timely completion of all requirements.
- Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with partner agencies and staff to meet grant objectives. Representing the Tribe to various agencies, including, but not limited to governmental agencies, funding agencies, national organizations, and the general public, perform community liaison and outreach activities for program(s)/project(s).
- Highly developed organizational skills that allow for coordination Drive agency vehicle.
- Understand and implement safety rules, emergency procedures, and established policies.
- Participate in required Tolowa Dee‑ni' Nation and CFW meetings and trainings; work cooperatively with all TDN departments.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Education and Experience:
- Associate's degree equivalent to four (4) years of experience
- Bachelor's degree equivalent to eight (8) years of experience
- Required Knowledge:
- All Tolowa Dee‑ni' Nation employees are expected to have general knowledge of typical office technologies such as computers, printers, copiers, fax machines, and typical office software.
- Knowledge of the history, culture and organization history of the Tolowa Dee‑ni' Nation and the Tolowa people.
- Knowledge of current issues in the field of social welfare; social services programs including Domestic and family violence, sexual assault, stalking and other public welfare programs on the Federal, State, and local level.
- Knowledge of the Indian community, its organization, and needs.
- Knowledge of community support systems, health care and human service resources.
- Required Skills and Abilities:
