Job description

CNC Machinist (Precision Manufacturing)

Location: East Bay, California
Compensation: $32–$37/hour + Benefits
Employment Type: Full-Time

Join a Stable, High-Precision Manufacturing Team

A well-established precision manufacturing company with more than four decades of success is seeking an experienced CNC Machinist to join its growing machine shop. This organization designs and builds highly customized industrial equipment used by manufacturers worldwide and is known for its commitment to quality, innovation, and craftsmanship.

If you enjoy working on prototype projects, short production runs, and precision-machined components, this is an opportunity to make a direct impact while working in a collaborative, hands-on environment.

What You’ll Do

  • Set up, operate, and inspect CNC machining operations
  • Produce high-precision components from engineering drawings and specifications
  • Machine a variety of materials while maintaining tight tolerances
  • Support prototype development and low-volume production projects
  • Perform in-process inspections to ensure quality standards are met
  • Troubleshoot machining challenges and recommend process improvements
  • Collaborate closely with engineering, manufacturing, and assembly teams
  • Contribute wherever needed to help meet customer deadlines and production goals

Requirements

What We’re Looking For

  • 5+ years of CNC machining experience
  • Strong setup, operation, and inspection skills
  • Experience with CNC vertical machining centers (Haas experience is a plus)
  • Manual mill and lathe experience is desirable
  • Experience machining multiple materials and working to tight tolerances
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to interpret verbal instructions and communicate effectively in English
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Willingness to work occasional overtime when required

Preferred Attributes

  • Detail-oriented and highly organized
  • Professional attitude with a strong work ethic
  • Team player who collaborates well with others
  • Self-motivated and committed to continuous learning
  • Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic abilities
  • Ability to lift and move equipment and materials (up to 75 lbs.)

Benefits

Why Consider This Opportunity?

  • Work on unique, custom-engineered projects rather than repetitive production work
  • Join a financially stable company with a long history of success
  • Collaborative culture where craftsmanship and quality are valued
  • Competitive compensation and comprehensive benefits package
  • Opportunities to expand your skills across a variety of machining applications

Benefits

  • Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance
  • 401(k) with Company Match
  • Paid Time Off
  • Long-term career stability
  • Supportive team environment

If you’re a skilled CNC Machinist who takes pride in precision work and enjoys tackling diverse manufacturing challenges, we’d like to hear from you.
