Job description

A growing international food manufacturing company is seeking a talented and motivated Research & Development (R&D) Specialist to join the team.

  • Entry-level with science degree
  • $27/hr. plus full benefits and bonus
  • Cypress, CA

Requirements of the R&D Associate:

  • Must have a Bachelor's Degree in Nutrition/Food Science or related field
  • Bilingual Japanese skills is a big plus, but not required
  • Ability to understand and implement FDA, USDA and other related regulations
  • Basic knowledge of nutrition, chemistry, microbiology and statistics
  • The ability to taste and smell to recognize and characterize various types of foods
  • Basic cooking skills
  • Basic knowledge of nutrition, chemistry, microbiology and statistics
  • Familiarity with basic lab procedures and equipment
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Computer proficiency in word, excel and PowerPoint
  • Work well in a team environment; must have inquisitive mind
  • Occasional business travel

Responsibilities of the R&D Associate:

Assist in product and process development of products, implement new technologies, and perform general R&D tasks, including product maintenance and new product development.

  • Plan and conduct experiments for new products and processes
  • Support other departments -PD, Marketing, Sales, QC/QA, and Production
  • Ensure regulatory compliance for processes, products, and labels
  • Test shelf life and evaluate new and existing products
  • Research market trends and develop new concepts and prototypes
  • Create innovative product formulas that meet all requirements
  • Other related duties will be assigned

 

Employment Type: Direct Hire

Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:30am – 5:30pm
