Position: Talend Developer – Healthcare EDI & Databricks

Location: USA Remote

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior Talend Developer with strong expertise in Healthcare EDI (X12) integrations and Databricks-based data processing. The ideal candidate will design, develop, and optimize scalable ETL/ELT pipelines supporting healthcare transactions, analytics, and reporting platforms while ensuring HIPAA compliance and high data quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain Talend ETL/ELT jobs for large-scale healthcare data integration.

Process and transform Healthcare EDI X12 transactions, including but not limited to:

834 (Enrollment)

835 (Claims Payment/Remittance)

837 (Professional, Institutional, Dental Claims)

270/271 (Eligibility)

276/277 (Claim Status)

Perform EDI file parsing, validation, mapping, enrichment, and reconciliation.

Integrate Talend workflows with Databricks (Apache Spark) for big-data processing and analytics.

Develop and optimize Spark jobs using PySpark / Spark SQL within Databricks.

Handle ingestion from multiple source systems such as SFTP, APIs, relational databases, flat files, and cloud storage.

Implement data quality checks, error handling, logging, and monitoring frameworks.

Ensure HIPAA compliance, data security, and PHI protection throughout data pipelines.

Collaborate with business analysts, EDI analysts, data architects, and QA teams to gather requirements and deliver solutions.

Support production deployments, troubleshooting, and performance tuning.

Create and maintain technical documentation and data flow diagrams.

Required Technical Skills

ETL & Integration

7–8 years of hands-on experience with Talend (Data Integration, Big Data, or Cloud)

Strong experience in complex ETL design and performance optimization

Healthcare EDI

Solid hands-on experience with HC / Healthcare EDI X12 files

Strong understanding of EDI standards, segments, loops, and trading partner workflows

Experience with EDI validation, acknowledgments (999/277CA), and error handling

Big Data & Databricks

Hands-on experience with Databricks on cloud platforms

Strong skills in Apache Spark, PySpark, and Spark SQL

Experience working with Delta Lake and large-scale datasets

Databases & SQL

Strong SQL skills (Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or similar)

Experience with data modeling and query optimization

Cloud & DevOps (Preferred)

Exposure to AWS / Azure / GCP
