Position Summary

Under the supervision of the Clinical Director of Mental Health Services, the Tailor Made Clinician provides mental health counseling and support to youth and families in school and community settings across San Francisco. This position delivers assessment, individual and group therapy, crisis intervention, and case management services that reflect professional, legal, and ethical standards.

The Clinician plays a key role in supporting the Tailor Made program, ensuring equitable access to culturally responsive and trauma-informed care. This role emphasizes collaboration, inclusivity, and partnership with families, schools, and community organizations.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Services

  • Conduct client intake, assessments, and screenings.
  • Provide individual, family, and group counseling, as well as crisis intervention and case management.
  • Develop and implement Individual and Family Service Plans using evidence-based and culturally appropriate practices.
  • Maintain a balanced clinical caseload aligned with program guidelines.
  • Deliver services virtually, in schools, or at designated program sites.

Case Management & Community Collaboration

  • Connect clients to appropriate community resources and service providers.
  • Serve as a liaison between families and local organizations to coordinate care and support.
  • Collaborate with the Tailor Made team to ensure a holistic approach to meeting client needs.

Documentation & Compliance

  • Maintain timely and accurate documentation of services, outcomes, and reports.
  • Adhere to all legal, ethical, and organizational policies, including confidentiality and mandated reporting.
  • Participate in program and clinical supervision sessions.

Training & Professional Development

  • Complete required safety and training certifications prior to direct service.
  • Attend staff meetings, trainings, and professional development sessions.
  • Contribute to a positive, inclusive, and respectful work environment.

Other Duties

  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by the supervisor to support program operations.

Work Environment & Physical Demands

Work Environment:

  • Services are provided in schools, community sites, and YMCA offices.
  • Some work may be conducted virtually.
