Job Summary

The Tag & Title Clerk is responsible to assist with the accounting of business transactions on a day-to-day, month-to-month basis. He/she verifies, allocates and posts transactions into proper journals and ensures transaction back-up documents are properly maintained. The Tag & Title Clerk maintains an adequate system of accounting records, a comprehensive set of controls and budgets designed to mitigate risk, and develops/produces periodic financial reports that comply with generally accepted accounting principles. The ideal Tag & Title Clerk will have at least one year experience in a position of similar responsibility.

Duties and Responsibilities:

The following is a representative list of the duties and responsibilities associated with this position:

  • Follow a documented system of accounting policies and procedures
  • Oversee vendor management and outsourcing 
  • Maintain an orderly accounting system; and maintain control over accounting systems and chart of accounts 
  • Make debt payments on a timely basis
  • Recommend benchmarks against which to measure operations performance
  • Process tag and title work in a timely manner
  • Post all finalized tag bundles
  • Reconcile tag / title schedule monthly
  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures and safety standards 
  • Perform other duties as assigned

  • Depth Perception: Three-dimensional vision. Ability to judge distances and spatial relationships so as to see objects where and as they actually are 
  • Visual Accommodation: Adjustment of lens of eye to bring an object into sharp focus. This factor is required when doing near point work at varying distances from the eye 
  • Color Vision: Ability to identify and distinguish colors 
  • Field of Vision: Observing an area that can be seen up and down or to right or left while eyes are fixed on a given point
