Our client seeks a Field Tactical Network Engineer to serve as a subject matter expert for Program Manager C2 Transport supporting PdM Network Modernization across At-the-Halt, On-the-Move, and SATCOM networks. The engineer will configure, validate, and test tactical network systems, lead coordination across engineering teams, and provide systems engineering oversight for SATCOM, baseband networking, and software development. The role includes network planning, setup, configuration, troubleshooting, testing, and teardown while collaborating with unit stakeholders and presenting technical briefings.
This is a contract to hire opportunity. Applicants must be willing and able to work on a w2 basis and convert to FTE following contract duration. For our w2 consultants, we offer a great benefits package that includes Medical, Dental, and Vision benefits, 401k with company matching, and life insurance.
Rate: $65.00 to $85.00/hr. w2

Responsibilities:
  • Serve as focal point and subject matter expert for PM C2 Transport supporting PdM Network Modernization across ATH, OTM, and SATCOM networks.
  • Identify and report problems and discrepancies, recommend resolutions, and manage documentation for configurations, incidents, test procedures, and results.
  • Configure, validate, and test tactical network systems delivered to units.
  • Exercise technical leadership to align required actions, schedules, and resolve conflicting viewpoints regarding support operations and systems.
  • Coordinate system development tasks with program systems engineering leads based on integration challenges and new requirements.
  • Provide systems engineering oversight for SATCOM systems, baseband networking equipment, and software development.
  • Coordinate across embedded support teams to implement plans of action to achieve program objectives.
  • Represent PM Tactical Network at unit and interagency planning conferences.
  • Collaborate with leadership and stakeholders to coordinate and integrate program operations and objectives.
  • Develop and present briefings on systems engineering, network architecture planning, and test efforts.
  • Support network planning, setup, configuration, troubleshooting, testing, and teardown.
  • Work closely with unit CFSRs, S6 staff, and other personnel to coordinate activities.

Experience Requirements:
  • Eight years of related tactical network engineering experience minimum. A bachelor's degree may be substituted with an additional seven years of related experience for a total of 15 years.
  • Extensive experience in network engineering with a record of delivering high-quality solutions.
  • Knowledge of network services such as DNS, DHCP, Mail, Active Directory, SharePoint, and other user services desired.
  • Specialized experience as an engineer in industry or military components desired.
  • Experience with PdM Network Modernization products desired.
  • Ability to support uncommon tours including nights, weekends, and holidays as required by mission.
  • Occasional travel as required.
  • Mandatory: U.S. citizenship and active Secret security clearance.

Education Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Testing, or related field. A bachelor's degree may be substituted with an additional seven years of related tactical network engineering experience.
