Job description

This position is for a Tableau Server Administrator. The candidate will be responsible for implementing and administering Tableau Server in a Windows environment. This position will be responsible for following and complying with Standard Operating Procedures.

Duties:

  • Lead Tableau Server administration, including user provisioning, permissions, upgrades, backup, performance monitoring, and license management.
  • Manage data connections: data extracts, virtual connections, live data connections, data source security.
  • Enforce data governance standards across development and production environments.
  • Provide technical support to Tableau users by diagnosing and resolving issues related to server access, performance, and functionality.
  • Drive dashboard performance optimization, version control, and change management processes.
  • Attendance at ITD meetings (as required).
  • Other Duties as assigned

Requirements

Education:

This position requires a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a major in computer science, information systems, engineering, business, or other related scientific or technical discipline or equivalent experience. (Note: A Master's degree is preferred.)

General Experience:

The proposed candidate must have at least seven (7) years of experience in the IT field.

Specialized Experience:

The proposed candidate must have at least five (5) years of combined new and related older technical experience in the IT field directly related to the required area of expertise.

  • At least three (3) years of experience administering Tableau Server.
  • At least one (1) year of experience creating SQL queries.
  • At least one (1) year of experience with Tableau Desktop

Preferred:

  • Experience creating and utilizing data visualizations using Tableau for enterprises
