Description:

Heidtman Tubular Products, a Heidtman Steel company, is seeking dedicated, experienced production workers to join our team in Erie, MI. We are looking for individuals who are committed to maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and efficiency in our production processes. 2nd shift (2:30 PM - 11:00 PM) and 3rd shift (10:30 PM - 7:00AM) opportunities available. Wages starting at $20.51/hour, up to $32/hour, with shift differentials up to $1.50/hour, based on hours worked.


Open positions include, but are not limited to:

End Weld Operator

Paint System Operator

Saw Operator

Packline Operator

Quality Control Technicians

Floaters (cross-trained to fill multiple positions)


Responsibilities:

  • Operate forklift and overhead crane to move, load, unload, and store finished goods and in-process materials.
  • Verify and properly identify materials to ensure accuracy in production.
  • Manage the storage and offline readiness of banding materials and tags for bundles.
  • Conduct visual inspections to ensure the quality of products being produced for inventory.
  • Actively participate in change-overs and set up bundles in accordance with packaging requirements.
  • Communicate effectively with the Mill Operator regarding product quality.
  • Participate actively during breakdowns and bottlenecks to maintain production flow.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience in a production or manufacturing environment.
  • Proficient in operating forklifts and overhead cranes.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Basic problem-solving skills to address production challenges.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
