Job description

We are seeking a Quality Control inspector with experience in MPI, LPI, UTT and dimensional to join our Quality Control team. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing QC receiving inspection, dimensional inspection and completion of NDE disciplines on a variety of materials and components to ensure compliance with industry standards and Canrig specifications.

  • Coordinate Measuring Machine Experience Preferred (Keyence, Hexagon Romer, Faro, etc.)

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • One year certificate from a college or technical school; or two to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Experience in MPI/LP/UTT familiar with ASNT-TC-1A or Equivalent standards.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret engineering drawings, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

REASONING ABILITY

  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

COMPUTER SKILLS

  • Conducting MPI/LPI tests on various materials and components to detect surface and near-surface discontinuities.
  • Interpret and evaluate test results in accordance with applicable standards, codes, and specifications.
  • Prepare inspection reports and documentation detailing the findings and results of the tests.
  • Ensure all inspections and tests are conducted in accordance with established procedures and safety guidelines.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of inspections, test results, and maintenance of equipment.
  • Perform routine maintenance and calibration of MPI equipment to ensure optimal performance and accuracy.
  • Work closely with other departments, including manufacturing, engineering, and quality control, to address any non-conformances or issues identified during inspections.
  • Perform receiving inspection, 100%-dimensional inspection and final inspection of parts and documents in accordance with Canrig and external standards when needed.
  • Validating that assembly adheres to standards and procedures and complying with legal requirements.
