Job description

Overview
Are you an experienced P8A Avionic Technician (AT) Subject Matter Expert (SME)/Test Engineer with USN Fleet experience looking for the flexibility to work from home in the Orlando area? Then we have an opportunity for you to work with the Lead Test Engineer and her Engineering team in the development, integration, testing and delivery of the Naval Air Warfare Center Training Systems Division (NAWCTSD) P-8A Maintenance Training Device Suite (MTDS). Additionally, this position allows for a hybrid work location (combination of virtual and onsite at our Orlando Office) at the discretion of the Lead Test Engineer.
This is a hybrid role with an estimated 3 days per week in the office.
Responsibilities
  • Work in a flexible environment with an industry which is developing the need for new technologies and systems that deliver cutting edge simulation environments.
  • Work closely with USN Fleet SMEs in determining optimum test scenarios and test methodologies.
  • Work with the NAWCTSD Test Team, American Systems, and other contractors in the planning and execution of test plans.
  • Trace and validate P8A Maintenance Trainer requirements to test procedures.
  • Author and validate test procedures with support from USN fleet SMEs.
  • Support or lead onsite test events as the American Systems test engineer and author STR (Software Trouble Reports) to document defects.
  • Track, investigate and update STRs in JIRA.
  • At the completion of formal test events, coordinate with the NAWCTSD Test Team in adjudicating STRs.
  • Utilize Model-Based System Engineering program to track requirements, test procedures and test results.
  • Travel in support of program objectives at the direction of the Program Manager.

Qualifications
  • U.S. Citizenship
  • Secret Clearance
  • Must have demonstrated fleet experience and proficiency in P8 maintenance
  • Bachelor's Degree and 5-7 years of test engineering experience (i.e. aircraft or training systems development and testing); a combination of education and experience can be used in lieu of a degree
  • Expertise Test Engineering for development of detailed Test Procedures and Reports
  • The ability to travel for onsite Test support in Jacksonville

Pay Transparency Statement
AMERICAN SYSTEMS is committed to pay transparency for our applicants and employee-owners. The salary range for this position is USD $90,000.00/Yr. - USD $95,000/Yr. Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors permitted by law.
