Job description

Title: Systems Development Engineer (Python)
Location: Redmond, WA (onsite)
Duration: 12+ month contract
Compensation: $65 - 75.00/hr. W2
Work Requirements: , Holders or Authorized to Work in the U.S.

Position Summary

We are seeking a Systems Development Engineer with experience supporting software testing, release management, and large-scale test environments. This role will focus on monitoring test pipelines, triaging failures, supporting release activities, and partnering with engineering teams to drive issues through resolution. The ideal candidate has strong Python familiarity, enjoys troubleshooting complex systems, and is comfortable working in fast-paced development and test environments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support release management activities and product validation efforts throughout the development lifecycle.
  • Monitor automated test pipelines and investigate test failures across build, integration, and test environments.
  • Triage failures, analyze test results, and identify potential root causes.
  • Modify and maintain existing Python-based test scripts and automation tools.
  • Create, manage, and follow up on defect tickets to ensure timely resolution.
  • Coordinate with software, test, and infrastructure teams to troubleshoot issues and drive corrective actions.
  • Rerun tests, validate fixes, and provide reporting on test execution results and failure trends.
  • Participate in on-call support and assist with issue resolution outside of standard business hours when needed.
Required Qualifications
  • 5 years of experience in Systems Engineering, Test Engineering, Validation Engineering, Release Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience supporting test environments, release processes, and automated test pipelines
  • Working knowledge of Python, including the ability to read, modify, and troubleshoot existing test scripts.
  • Experience investigating test failures and driving issues through resolution.
  • Experience working with defect tracking and ticket management systems.
  • Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Experience supporting embedded systems, connected devices, or hardware/software integration environments.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience identifying and resolving issues within test infrastructure or automation environments.
  • Familiarity with large-scale test and release environments
  • Strong troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and problem-solving skills.
