Responsibilities
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated HiL Test Engineer - HV/EV Platform to join our HV/EV feature validation team. In this role, you will lead HV Feature bringup, test automation, HV Test Solution development and HIL testing efforts for High Voltage (HV) feature testing, diagnostics, and platform software/hardware on next-generation automotive platforms. You will bring up new HV test systems, develop test solutions to perform end-to-end feature validation, create test cases based on ASTQB test methodologies, and automate and execute those test cases. You will be validating BMS, charging, diagnostics, and power electronics systems, while driving CI/CD integration to improve test velocity and quality.
What you'll do...
  • Responsible for developing and bringing up HV/EV test solutions in order to perform end-to-end feature validation.
  • Responsible for new feature bring-up and system test validation of software components related to HV/EV, Diagnostics, and Platform testing.
  • Responsible for performing GAP analysis, developing new test cases based on ASTQB test methodologies, automating those test cases, and executing test cases to perform software validation across ECUs, focusing on HV/EV at the system level on HIL.
  • Responsible for performing system architecture and the related validation tests on components.
  • Responsible for test plan creation, test execution, test report review, and feature validation tests while ensuring traceability to functional and performance requirements.
  • Facilitate and align with cross-functional technical teams such as functional safety, feature teams at the system level.
  • Responsible for performing testing on closed-loop test benches and creating bench-level test cases using ECUTest / CAPL / Python to increase efficiency and test repeatability, contributing directly to reduced cost and improved final product quality.
  • Maintain test case traceability against system-level feature requirements throughout the product development life cycle.
  • Align and support SAFe processes and activities within functional areas such as System, Hardware, and Safety.
  • Responsible for diagnostic testing, feature-related fault injection testing, and developing and executing test cases to ensure system and feature integrity.
  • Be responsible for test diagnostics and UDS protocol and fault testing; define and execute software and hardware diagnostics test cases.
  • Investigate root causes of component- or system-level DUT failure.
  • Implement automated diagnostics testing (UDS / DoIP / K-Line), DTC validation, and DTC suppression/unmasking strategies where required.
  • Responsible for creating roads and scenarios in dSPACE MotionDesk / ModelDesk / Aurelion, creating ControlDesk layouts for feature testing, and developing test automation in Python / ECUTest or equivalent HIL tools.
  • Author and maintain test cases, test data, and test artifacts (logs, traces, TestRail/Test Management entries) and ensure they are archived to artifact stores such as JFrog.
  • Integrate test executions into CI/CD pipelines such as Jenkins and GitLab CI, and automated job scheduling systems such as CT/Jira or equivalent.
  • Analyze test failures, perform root-cause investigations across software, hardware, and network topology, and coordinate fixes with software, hardware, and supplier teams.
  • Define and validate bench-level network topologies, bus routing, and power modes required for reproducible testing.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to increase automation coverage and reduce redundant testing.

Qualifications
You'll have...
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in HV HiL, test bench integration, or power electronics, with hands-on exposure to end-to-end HV feature test bench bring-up.
  • Hands-on experience with HV HIL systems and test tools such as ECUTest, CANoe, or similar platforms.
  • Strong knowledge of automotive communication protocols, including CAN (11/29 bit), LIN, FlexRay, Ethernet, UDS, and DoIP, along with diagnostic tooling.
  • Strong hands-on experience with HV hardware, instrumentation, battery emulators, charger emulators, AC/DC load banks, and bench automation.
  • Proficiency with Python scripting to automate test case execution, monitor vehicle-level data, and support KPI testing.
  • Experience debugging, testing, and bringing up complex hardware/software systems.
  • Experience developing and executing validation test plans to cover multiple system configurations.
  • Experience in planning and executing system-level feature testing across ECUs on HIL.
  • Experience with test management and reporting tools such as TestRail and Jira, and log analysis tools such as CANalyzer and Vector tools.

  • Experience in efficiently developing and executing validation test plans for multiple system configurations.

  • Familiarity with dSPACE, NI, Keysight, ETAS, and other HIL or test automation platforms.

  • Familiarity with safety and functional-safety concepts such as ISO 26262 and the automotive development lifecycle.

This position is a salary grade 8 and ranges from $115,000-$160,000.
Final determination of salary grade will be based on candidate's skills and experience, and base salary will be set within the applicable range according to job scope, responsibility and competitive market value.
