Job Description:

L3Harris Corporation is seeking a Lead, System Integration & Test Engineer to support the integration and testing of military avionics equipment, including mission multipurpose processors and critical avionics sub-systems. This role offers the opportunity to take on unique technical challenges, expand your skills and experience, and contribute to mission-critical systems solutions that keep our warfighters safe.

Essential Functions:

  • Support all phases of the product life cycle: design, analysis, manufacturing, test, verification/validation, and delivery
  • Design and build bench test equipment, development test kits, Specialized Test Equipment (STE), and Automated Test Equipment (ATE) for production environments
  • Develop and execute functional and performance test procedures, qualification tests, and document test results to ensure requirements compliance
  • Collaborate with cross-functional technical teams to integrate and test critical avionics components and mission multipurpose processors.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve systems issues related to avionics domain hardware, processors, and communication systems.
  • Read, interpret, and edit engineering drawings and schematics
  • Support test technicians and engineering teams in troubleshooting test failures, executing tests, and proper use of electronic test equipment
  • Support Failure Review Board (FRB) and Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) analysis activities
  • Ability to obtain a US Security Clearance

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.

 

Preferred Additional Qualifications:

  • Experience designing and building bench test equipment, development test kits, Specialized Test Equipment (STE), and/or Automated Test Equipment (ATE) for production environment.
  • Proficiency recording and processing data from avionics buses and protocols: MIL-STD-1553, ARINC-429, Ethernet, high-speed avionics Fiber Optic Transmit and Receive (FOTR), analog/digital video, and discrete voltage/current signals.
  • Demonstrated fault isolation and troubleshooting capabilities, ideally to component level for both hardware-in-the-loop and software-in-the-loop tests.
  • Experience with test automation frameworks (LabVIEW, TestStand, PyTest, Robot)
  • Proficiency with National Instruments hardware and software data acquisition and instrument interfacing/measurement solutions.
  • Proficiency using spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, network analyzers, and logic analyzers.
  • Familiarity with Keysight BenchVue software.
  • Proficiency with Programming/scripting proficiency in Python, MATLAB, and/or C/C++/C#.
  • Understanding of high-speed storage device integration, verification, and validation
  • Proficiency with Linux OS and Windows command line interfaces
  • Experience with requirements verification, Acceptance Test Procedures (ATP), Formal Qualification Testing (FQT), Environmental & EMI/EMC qualification testing, and Developmental Verification Testing (DVT) planning, test procedure generation, and execution
  • Familiarity with configuration management tools (Git, Bitbucket, or similar)
  • Experience with Jira or JAMA for issue and project tracking
  • Project management skills: schedule coordination, milestone tracking, risk identification and mitigation, resource planning
  • Experience with airworthiness requirements and safety standards
  • EMI/EMC testing and compliance experience
  • Knowledge of MIL-STD specifications (1553, 461, 704, 810)
  • Familiarity with DO-178C (software) and DO-254 (hardware) certification processes
  • Familiarity with Air Force Versatile Diagnostic Test Station (VDATS)
  • Experience working in or supporting electronics industry and/or military avionics depot operations
