The Role:

We are looking for a Controller System Integration Manager (CSIM) to join our Vehicle Mechatronics Embedded Controls (VMEC) organization! This Controller System Integration Manager is a challenging technical leadership position in the development, integration and launch of embedded propulsion controller products in all electric vehicles. This position is responsible for creating, communicating, and managing various types of 'program' plans and ensuring the on-time delivery of an embedded controller and/or its sub-components. In addition, you will lead the Daily Stand-Up meeting with key partners to ensure all requirements and tasks are met on-time with "world's best" quality. You will also lead and establish technical direction for both internal (GM) and external (supplier) engineering support personnel. This position includes frequent written and oral communication with executive leadership. Lastly, this role contains a high level of cross-functional responsibility with limited formal authority, providing excellent opportunities for developing and honing the skill of influencing others.

What You'll Do:

  • Ensure that the product development and release plans are created and executed in adherence to engineering standard work for the purpose of on-time high quality delivery of VMEC embedded control products.

  • Identify and resolve any coordination issues between the calibration team, SW DRE, SWIM, SWIL, and Hardware DREs

  • Act as an integration manager and primary interface with customers (e.g., vehicle program teams or vehicle assembly plants) and development partners (e.g., calibration teams, validation teams, or suppliers) of the specific product of responsibility; includes tracking and reporting status of deliverables.

  • Refine, Maintain, and Prioritize the team backlog

  • Lead or support standard meetings related to specific responsibilities (e.g., Daily stand-up Meeting or Software Execution Team Meeting)

  • Provides technical leadership ensuring issue resolution and appropriate technical direction for products of responsibility

  • Escalate issues as required, for executive leadership support

  • Interface with Lead Calibrators and Technical Specialists to escalate SW needs as required

  • Lead system level corrective action teams (e.g., critical launch issues with calibration and software coordinated action)

  • Own system-level PRTS through PRC to identify key issue owners

  • Train, coach, mentor other team members in areas of strong competency

  • Lead and support continuous process improvements, best practices, lessons learned, and quality improvement initiatives.

  • Single point controller contact for Propulsion product teams: represent controller team at Core PDT, SMT and GPS PAPIR/PET/CPIT/PPDR.

  • Overall PRTS leader for all assigned programs: support status review, forecast risk and work across teams and leadership levels to deliver program content with best quality.

Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications):

  • Bachelor's degree in one of the following: Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or other equivalent engineering degrees.

  • Minimum of 5 years of engineering/technical experience

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in real-time embedded software system, such as controller hardware design, sensor and actuator design, algorithm design, software development, calibration, integration, testing and validation, electrical architecture design, etc.

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a technical project lead or project manager with proven experience in accomplishing project deliverables and goals

  • Experience leading meetings

  • Demonstrated drive for results and teamwork in project execution.

  • Demonstrated analytical ability where problems are unusual and difficult.

  • Demonstrated proficiency in project management skills, especially within automotive product lifecycle,

  • Demonstrated skill to deliver results in a complex and highly demanding development and production environment: addressing multiple high priority topics with success.

What Will Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Skills):

  • Master's degree in engineering or computer Science or MBA.

  • 8+ years of automotive experience.

  • Understanding of AUTOSAR software constructs and their implementation.

  • Understanding of trouble shooting and root-causing vehicle issues.

  • Understanding of vehicle architecture and Software Driven Vehicle concept.

  • Understanding of automated software build and release process.
