NW Biofuel is an environmental services company that helps restaurants and food-service operations across Oregon and Washington turn used cooking oil into renewable fuel. We collect used cooking oil (UCO) and provide grease trap services, supplying feedstock to the renewable fuels market. Our operations run on a modern, integration-driven technology stack, and we are investing in the in-house engineering capability that keeps that stack running and growing.
Role Overview:
We are seeking an Integrations Engineer who can quickly contribute in a hands-on environment while continuing to grow with the organization. In this role, you will take ownership of improving the stability, reliability, and performance of the integrations and systems that run our business, working independently to support critical production workflows. As you become more deeply integrated with the platform and the business, you will also contribute to ongoing system enhancements and new development across our tools.
In addition, you will play a key role in transitioning technical ownership of our integration stack and bringing it fully in-house — managing the production systems that directly support and drive our day-to-day operations. The primary focus of this role is platform ownership, stabilization, and reliability of our integrations.
Details
Integrations & API Development
• Own, run, and maintain the API integrations connecting our core platforms, using MuleSoft as the integration layer between Salesforce and QuickBooks Online (QBO), OptimoRoute, HazTrack, and Samsara.
• Manage bidirectional data sync — work order completion to invoicing, account/customer sync, routing data, telematics, and sensor data flows.
• Monitor integration health, resolve sync exceptions, and continuously improve reliability, error handling, and performance across all connected systems.
• Build out new integrations and enhancements as the business grows, translating operational needs into well-designed, maintainable solutions.
What We're Looking For
• Professional software engineering experience building and maintaining production API integrations.
• Hands-on experience with MuleSoft, or strong aptitude and willingness to take full ownership of a MuleSoft-based integration layer.
• Experience with Salesforce — its data model and APIs; admin/configuration familiarity is a strong plus.
• Familiarity integrating SaaS platforms such as QuickBooks Online, routing/logistics tools (e.g., OptimoRoute), telematics (e.g., Samsara), or IoT/sensor platforms.
• Strong troubleshooting instincts, clear communication, and the reliability to own systems other people depend on.
• Able to work on-site at our Portland office, Monday through Friday, and authorized to work in the U.S.
Compensation & Benefits
• Competitive salary of $135,000–$160,000 per year, depending on experience.
• Full medical and dental insurance.
• Three (3) weeks of paid time off (PTO).
• Full IT support and the equipment you need.
• A stable, long-term role with real ownership and direct impact on the business.
