The ideal candidate has a strong background in thermal-fluid systems, process engineering, and multidisciplinary system integration.

Responsibilities

  • Design nuclear and industrial process systems and subsystems from concept through final design.
  • Develop and maintain mass and energy balance models to support system performance and design analyses.
  • Integrate results from thermal, structural, seismic, pipe stress, and heat transfer analyses into overall system designs.
  • Apply applicable industry codes and standards, including ASME, ANS, ASTM, IEEE, and NFPA.
  • Develop engineering documentation, including:
    • System Design Descriptions (SDDs)
    • Engineering Design Specifications (EDS)
    • Interface Control Documents (ICDs)
  • Support the development of design packages, including P&IDs, 3D models, and system drawings.
  • Coordinate closely with mechanical, civil, instrumentation & controls (I&C), nuclear, and other engineering disciplines.
  • Provide technical oversight of suppliers and support engineering design reviews.
  • Support system testing, validation, qualification, and commissioning activities.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Nuclear Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
  • 10+ years of system design and engineering experience.
  • Strong knowledge of thermodynamics, fluid systems, heat transfer, and mechanical/process system design.
  • Experience developing and maintaining mass and energy balance models using Aspen HYSYS and/or Aspen Plus.
  • Experience reading, interpreting, and developing Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs).
  • Demonstrated experience integrating complex engineering systems across multiple technical disciplines.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications
