This role will be responsible for:
  • Providing administration and support of Azure virtual machines, including provisioning, patching, performance tuning, backups, and lifecycle management.
  • Monitoring system health, availability, capacity, and security events across Azure and enterprise systems.
  • Investigating, documenting, and responding to security alerts, incidents, and vulnerabilities using approved security tools and logs.
  • Assisting with configuration and maintenance of security controls such as firewalls, network security groups, endpoint protection, and access controls.
  • Performing security monitoring and reporting, including log review, alert analysis, and trend/compliance reporting for leadership.
  • Supporting the administration of identity and access management, including RBAC, least-privilege enforcement, and periodic access reviews.
  • Providing administration and maintenance of Microsoft 365 services across the organization.
  • Assisting with the implementation and administration of MFA, SSO, and Conditional Access policies.
  • Applying operating system updates, security patches, and configuration changes to Windows systems in accordance with change-management processes.
  • Collaborating with IT, security, and compliance teams to improve overall system reliability, resilience, and security posture.
  • Maintaining accurate documentation of system configurations, security controls, procedures, and incident response activities.
  • Responding to escalated system and security tickets and ensures timely resolution.
  • Participating in an after-hours on-call rotation for critical outages, security incidents, and scheduled maintenance.
  • Supporting organizational compliance with HIPAA, internal policies, and applicable regulatory standards.

Minimum Job Requirements
Minimum Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field (preferred).
  • Minimum two years of hands-on systems administration experience, including Microsoft Entra ID, Microsoft 365, and Azure infrastructure/virtual machines.
  • Experience administering Windows Server in cloud and/or hybrid environments.
  • Practical experience with security monitoring, alerting, and incident response.
  • Scripting or automation experience (preferred).

Required Licenses, Certifications, and/or Documentation
  • Microsoft Azure and/or security-related certifications (e.g., Azure Administrator, Azure Security Engineer, SSCP) required or ability to obtain approved certifications within 3 months of hire.
  • Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record and insurability.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Strong knowledge of Azure infrastructure (virtual machines, networking, storage, and security controls).
  • Understanding of cybersecurity principles, threat detection, and incident response.
  • Experience reviewing logs, alerts, and reports to identify security risk and operational issues.
  • Knowledge of Windows operating systems, server administration, and patch management.
  • Familiarity with healthcare security and compliance requirements (HIPAA/HITECH).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to document procedures and communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality, security, and quality standards in a clinical environment.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and professionally with all levels of the organization.

Daily Physical Requirements of the Position Include:
  • Prolonged periods of sitting or working at a computer workstation (often 6-8 hours per day).
  • Occasional standing, walking, or moving between work areas (such as to server rooms or equipment locations).
  • Ability to lift, move, or carry IT equipment such as computers, monitors, printers, small servers, or networking gear (typically up to 25-35 pounds).
  • Manual dexterity required for handling cables, components, keyboards, and small parts.
  • Reaching, bending, kneeling, and crouching on occasion to access equipment under desks, in racks, or in storage areas.
  • Sufficient manual dexterity to operate equipment and computer keyboard.
