Overview

Bowhead seeks a System Administrator to support the Joint Navigation Warfare Center (JNWC) in Albuquerque, NM.

Responsibilities

Support DevOps team by providing routine OS, software, and application support Track, version, deploy, and rollback database changes to production and development databases Responsible for the maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of computer systems, network servers, and virtualization Provide documentation and technical specifications to IT staff for planning and implementing new upgrades of IT infrastructure Perform or delegate regular backup operations and implement appropriate processes for data protection, disaster recovery, and failover procedures Responsible for capacity, storage planning, and database performance Configure databases to meet cybersecurity requirements, ensure regulatory compliance, and adhere to database best practices Automate and standardize repetitive tasks with version-controlled scripts and procedures Analyze and write complex queries to support gathering metrics, troubleshooting application issues, and diagnosing performance issues Work closely with members of the development, test, and operations teams to troubleshoot build breaks, enforce software quality standards, and deployment of the application to non-production and production environments Managing and monitoring all installed systems and infrastructure Installing, configuring, testing, and maintaining operating systems, application software and system management tools Stay abreast of industry standards and apply innovations Executing MySQL statements to support the development team and table migrations during deployment of new versions of the application

Qualifications

BA/BS in related field 5 Yrs of relevant experience Must have one of the following certifications or equivalent: CompTIA Server +/CompTIA Security+/Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE), as well as any additional certifications required IAW DoD 8570/DoD 8140

SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Must currently hold a Top Secret clearance with SCI access.

Physical Demands: Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time Must be able to twist, bend and squat periodically
